The remaining hours that made up the weekends elapsed quickly, and before (Y/N) knew it, it was already a Monday.
After last Saturday's incident, Tsukishima had decided that letting her go home alone wouldn't be the best of ideas. He considered the possibility that the hooded man might still be lingering about. So, by means of precautionary measures, he offered to accompany her until she felt safe, and she was more than glad that he did.
The route they took to loose the man was far from where (Y/N)'s neighborhood was. Because of this, they had to retrace their way back after waiting a good three minutes or so just to make sure that the he was really out of their tail.
She couldn't help but feel a small sense of unease when the convenience store appeared in the distance as they walked, but the feeling soon lifted as her eyes landed on a small commotion. Three figures were situated at the front of the store. Two of which were policemen, as seen by their blue uniforms that were quite noticeable even from afar. The last person on the other hand couldn't be identified until they were close enough. There, the cashier lady stood, arms folded over the other with a solemn look of worry on her face.
The group talked as they exchanged occasional nods with each other. The policemen looked serious, as though they were carefully taking in and imprinting each word that the woman shared in their mind. If anything, it was a new sight for (Y/N), seeing officers stop by when the area she lives in hardly ever has problems for the local authorities to be involved. Given the situation at the time however, she completely understood why the lady reached out to them.
It was soon when the female locked eyes with the woman's perturbed ones just as she and Tsukishima were about to take a turn to her street. (Y/N) was immediately called over afterwards, and she could practically see the relief washing over the woman's face after the affirmation that she went unscathed.
The lady introduced herself as Mai Takahashi, a dark haired woman who (Y/N) presumed to be in her mid twenties. Miss Takahashi seemed to be equally shaken as (Y/N) was as she explained in horrible detail how the hooded man almost immediately exited after the younger female left the store, and it was at that very moment when she reached for the phone to alert the police. Goosebumps pricked at her skin as the woman told her this. His motives as to why he pursued her in such a way still remain unknown, but it was quite clear that his intentions were anything but good.
(Y/N) was questioned by the policemen shortly after, asking her details about the male's appearance and so on. It was unfortunate that she could only provide such little information. She wasn't quite sure how a description about clothing and height would be enough to help them catch the culprit.
The patrol around the area will start as soon as possible, the policemen had assured them. A part of (Y/N) didn't feel the slightest assurance though. The mere thought of the hooded man being able to roam around with his concealed identity as an advantage chilled her to the bone. He could be anywhere for all she knows. He might as well be out in the opening, playing as an innocent bystander or a neighbor, silently watching the whole situation unfold. (Y/N) could only hope that the policemen would catch him sooner, or at the very least, scare him off with their presence.
Tsukishima stood close as all of this happened. She sort of felt a little guilty for making him wait, but it didn't seem like he minded it at all. He stayed with her until it was time to go home, which was right after she said her thanks and goodbyes to Miss Takahashi and the officers.
Once they had reached her neighborhood, she let the blond know that she was fine to continue by herself. He said he'd let her, only if they exchange phone numbers first. Having no energy left to even think at the time, (Y/N) complied, setting the questions as to why he wanted her contact information aside. She thanked him one last time before they went their separate ways.
