The golden rays of the morning sun slowly seeped through the small gaps of the cream colored curtains and into the dimly lit room. Eventually, the streaks of light reached the sleeping figure of a (H/C) haired female, who was snuggled underneath the comfort of her soft blankets. (Y/N)'s eyes fluttered open at the pleasantly warm sensation brushing over her cheek. It was a Saturday morning. Usually, she would take the chance to sleep in during the weekends, but today, she felt well-rested, and surprisingly, very refreshed too. At this point, it would be impossible for her to go back to sleep again.
Her stomach growled at the thought of breakfast, and it woke her up completely. Steadily, she sat up to stretch, but she pulled the blankets over her frame again. The air around was a bit chilly today. It nearly startled her when the cold suddenly nipped at her skin. The want to stay and curl up under her warm, plush blankets grew strong, but the commitment to accomplish the goal, that is to get up and eat, overcame the urge quite easily.
With a small grunt, she lifted the blanket to her side, allowing the freezing air to greet the exposed parts of her skin. She shivered. The comforting material of the pajamas she wore made the greeting less harsh, and she was thankful she had made the choice to wear them the night before. (Y/N) swung her feet off the edge of the bed and quickly slipped on her light blue cotton slippers before she stood up to deal with the messy beddings sprawled before her.
Strangely enough, she was in a good mood today. Was this the aftermath of passing the make-up exams? It could be. Or it could be anything else. A pleased smile tugged at her lips at the thought as she folded her blankets and placed them neatly on top of each other, but it soon faltered into a small frown once she caught a glimpse of the bandaid wrapped around her index finger. The small adhesive strip, no matter how much she changed it, became a little reminder of the incident that happened a few days ago, and every time she looked at it, a recollection of how Tsukishima--
(Y/N) shook her head to keep herself from letting her thoughts stray further. No, it was far too early for her to think about such irrelevant things, and she was definitely not going to let this wonderful mood she woke up to get ruined.
The clock that hung above her bedroom door indicated that it was 7:23. Once again, her stomach growled, and she took that as her cue to head downstairs. Wafting throughout the house was the mouthwatering aroma of a freshly cooked dish, which instantly greeted her senses the moment she opened her bedroom door.
"...gotta be here somewhere." Her ears picked up a familiar grumble that was accompanied by the muffled sound of objects being moved around upon making her way to the kitchen. Hunched in front of the open fridge was her father, wearing his blue flannel robe over his nightwear as he practically peered his head inside, moving his attention from one shelf to another. His movements and incoherent mumbles to himself made (Y/N) figure that he was searching for something. Whatever it was, she'd be more than glad to help him look for it, but he'll have to wait. For now, she has to eat.
"Morning dad." (Y/N) greeted as she progressed towards the drawers to grab herself a bowl. Her dad lifted his head from the fridge to glance over at her, revealing unkempt locks of (H/C) hair with a few distinguishable wisps of grey. The amount of stubble that started to protrude across the lower regions of his face made her realize how fast the facial hairs grew, as she swore it was only yesterday when she last saw him with a cleanly shaved face. The man's eyes widened in a small degree, seemingly surprised by his daughter's sudden and unusual appearance this early in the morning.
"Oh? That's strange. Am I seeing things or are you really standing there?" He asked, a hint of tease in his voice as he quirked a brow at the female. After (Y/N)'s small shrug as a reply, a hearty chuckle of amusement parted from him. "Woah, you really are! Good morning, (Y/N). Go ahead and eat up. I just made them."
