Boni POV

The second Boni woke up, he remembered everything that happened the day before. He groaned, hands rubbing his face. The boy felt so stupid. He could've been honest to Ranboo, he surely would understand it. But no, Boni fucked it up again. He lied to the older boy. He acted like he would be fine, although he knew he wouldn't. He messed up his one chance to make a new friend. Ranboo surely hated him now. Which Boni found completely understandable. How could he be so stupid? With a sigh he threw off the bed sheet. Cold air surrounded the boy's body. He immediately wanted to jump back in his warm bed, but he ignored the feeling and he walked downstairs, to get some breakfast. Even though he wasn't very hungry, he knew you should never skip breakfast.

That morning, he was home alone. The kitchen was, besides the boy himself, completely empty. His aunt and uncle were working in the bakery, like they were every saturday morning. Boni normally didn't care to be home alone, but now, it scared him. Although he wasn't exactly sure what exactly scared him. Was it the silence? Or was it just the fact that the people who felt like his parents weren't by his side, now he felt like shit? Whatever it was, it made him feel uncomfortable.

The moment Boni saw Meatball entering the kitchen, the feeling became worse. He blamed the cat for what happened yesterday, even though he knew that was completely unfair to do. It was just so easy to blame his mistakes on someone else. Yes, the cat ran away when Boni needed him, but the animal didn't know how Boni felt that night. Meatball just wanted food, like all cats do. Boni made the mistake, not his cat. But Boni didn't want to acknowledge he messed up again, it would break him. So, the boy silently blamed the small gray animal.
