Steve clambers out of the car as I turn off the radio

Steve clambers out of the car as I turn off the radio. He grabs some bags from the back seat and pulls his cap lower down. "Cute cap Captain." I tease as I join him and wrap my arm in his. "Very funny. I just want a shopping trip where I don't get recognised." He explains. "I know baby." The pet name slipping out as we head towards the large building. I wrap my hands around the red cart and push it down the aisles of Target. Naturally we head to the candy section first, Steve being known for eating his weight in sugar recently. Steve adds a number of Sour Patch Kids packets, Jolly Ranchers, Starburst, M&Ms, Reese's, and Lindor chocolates to the cart before dragging me to the Chips, Snacks & Cookies section. Before I know it the cart is filled with Doritos, Lotus, Oreos, Goldfish, and Trail Mix.

Steve sports a sheepish grin as I say, "We're going to the Deli and Frozen Foods section so that you can have a real meal this week. We have enough vegetables to last a lifetime." I grumble as I think about the expanse of produce on Steve's rooftop garden. I pile a number of frozen pizzas, tater tots, garlic bread, cheesecake, and ice cream to the cart. I enjoy cooking and Steve and I make numerous dishes together but it's always nice to have a fallback. "Hey doll," Steve says as we turn into the Deli aisle, "Can we get a Hormel party tray for tonight?" He asks. "Yeah sure, it's just us though Stevie." He nods, "I know." I murmurs and I laugh. I grab a number of oat bars to replenish my supply and a few dips for game days.

Before I can head to the checkout Steve is pulling me towards the Beauty aisle. He chooses my usual face masks as I ran out over the weekend as well as stocking back up on shampoo, body wash, body butters, and conditioner. Steve excitedly peruses every aisle as he racks up quite the receipt with a range of laundry detergents, best selling books, movies he's missed, board games, new running shoes, tracksuits for us both, new shirts, a new dress he insisted on buying me, and vitamins. We carry our haul effortlessly back to the car but not before the cashier asks Steve for a photo, which he takes happily. I slump back into the driver's seat and Steve slides in his favourite CD, 'Greatest Hits: The Beatles.' The opening sounds of Golden Slumbers fills the car as I drive us back to our apartment.

Steve happily takes the bags into the kitchen and puts the shopping away as I set the TV up for our movie marathon. Steve decided he wanted to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and The Wizard of Oz, which I agreed to providing we could watch Hercules and my all time favourite Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. 30 minutes later, dressed in our pyjamas and with an array of snacks on the coffee table, we settle in for the first movie. I sing along to Heigh-Ho as Steve smiles at the familiarity of the cartoon. Steve complains I'm distracting him as I recite the words to Bippity Boppity Boo, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Go The Distance, Zero to Hero, A Tale as Old as Time, Gaston, Be Our Guest, and Beauty and the Beast respectively.

With a hoarse voice, full stomach and tired eyes Steve carries me to bed that night. Curling up next to me and flicking the lamp off.
