Steve and I are clad in sweats as we add the finishing touches to my new apartment in Washington. The paint fumes are intense but with all the windows open we barely notice.

Steve is on his hands and knees, removing the tape from above the skirting boards to reveal a crisp white line. I sit on the couch, sorting through the photos I got printed for the shelving. I'd already decorated the wall opposite the window with a series of paintings commissioned from a local artist but the photos added a personal touch. The first photo is a photo of Peggy, Steve, Howard and I taken by Phillips before we took down Schmidt. The next is a photo of pre-serum Steve and James, gifted to me by Rebecca and sitting next to it is a photo of Natasha and I at a SHIELD party. The final photo on the row is of Steve, it depicts him sitting on the balcony in my New York apartment, head engrossed in his sketchpad. On the shelf below sits an image Clint, Natasha, and I after a mission. The three of us stuffing our faces with pizza. The second photo is a photo taken by Peggy of James and I that her sons found when clearing out her belongings before placing her into a care home. We're sitting over a map and I must be dedicated to the topic of conversation because James is staring at me and I don't realise. The next photo is of me and Tony working on the Stark Tower design and the final photo is the seven Avengers at our first SHIELD de-brief after New York.

"Steve can you pass me the sugar?" I ask as I remove the lid from a reusable container. "Sure." Steve says as he hands me the bag. "Could you do the corn flour for me?" I ask politely. "Yeah no problem. Why do you need immediate access to corn flour anyway?" He queries. "I make a lot of sauces, it's a thickening agent. Have I taught you nothing?" I explain and Steve laughs, "Clearly not." I shake my head and pour the sugar into the container before I hear a soft "Oops." I turn to Steve and see a pile of corn flour surrounding the jar. Steve looks at me nervously, "Sorry?" He says. I laugh and sweep the flour into the jar before placing it on the shelf. Rather than washing my hands I choose instead to wipe them over Steve. "Hey!" He yells trying to squirm away from my hands. "Karma." I shrug. Office:

I throw the grey blanket across the bed and arrange the sheets to sit below the pillows. "What does the 'C' stand for?" Steve asks curiously as he surveys the room. "Captain." I smile and Steve laughs, "Is this my room?" He asks. "Well technically it's the guest bedroom but Nat usually shares my bed if she stays over and the only other person is you." I explain and open Steve's suitcase onto the bed. I pull out his Captain America suit from the Battle of New York, "You kept this? I thought they were giving you a new one." I say. Steve shrugs, "It grew on me." He mumbles and snatches it out of my hand before hanging it in the wardrobe, leaving me laughing as I hand him clothes. Master Bedroom:

I plop down onto the soft mattress as Steve hauls my clothes into my bedroom. He swings one of the cases next to my legs and clicks it open. "Don't open that one!" I shout as my eyes widen. "Why not?" He asks worriedly. "It's full of weapons that I need to hide around the apartment." I explain and Steve nods.
