Chapter 4: Getting into it

A/N: Before this chapter starts I just wanna give an epic shoutout to Wooyounglikehoney for encouraging me, it feels nice having supporters, y'know?

4 years later, they are all 18. But Asuma turns 18 today.

Asuma wakes up as he sees a trickle of light shining through his bedroom's window.

Asuma: mhmmm...

Hiruzen opens the door and says
Hiruzen: Good morning Asuma-kun. Happy birthday! Breakfast is ready.

Asuma: Mhm alright thanks dad. I'll be there in a sec.

He hurries to the shower and quickly changes his clothes into decent ones. Not like a suit, but decent ones specifically for walks and night-outs. He hurriedly ran downstairs to eat breakfast.

Biwako: Good morning, happy 18th birthday young man. You look dressed up. Are you going out?

Asuma: Thank you kaa-chan, yes I am, I'll be going out after this.

Biwako: Hm alright, but at night we'll go out after your father's work. Make sure to be back before 6.

Asuma: Got it.

After finishing his breakfast...

Asuma: I'll be going now mom, bye.

Asuma heads out of the Sarutobi Compound and meets with his friends on their meeting place.

Guy: Asuma, there you are! Happy birthday my man!

All: Happy birthday!

Kurenai steps in and hugs her lover.

Kurenai: Happy birthday Asuma-kun.

Asuma blushes and hugs back in return.

Asuma: Thank you my lady. Thank you all.

Guy: Well what're we all waiting for? To Ichiraku's!

Asuma: Alright my treat.

As they head to Ichiraku's, Asuma and Kurenai walks side by side, holding each other's hands. They reached the stand and all digged in to the delicious ramen. After eating, they decided to go part ways to do their own hobbies because the hokage let all genins let the day off in occasion of Asuma's birthday.

Guy squeezes closer to Asuma and asks him.

Guy: So when're you gonna do it?

Asuma: Later actually.

Guy: Aight I'll let you get on with it! Good luck!

Asuma walks in closer to Kurenai.

Asuma: Hey Kurenai, wanna hang out?

Kurenai: Oh sure.

Asuma: Not a typical date but, I just wanna spend time with you. Wanna go by the lake?

Kurenai: Of course, I'd love that.

Kurenai locks her arms with his and with that, Asuma blushes and continues on with their walk to the lake. They both reach the lake and went under a shady tree.

Kurenai: I like it here. It's so peaceful, thanks Asuma-kun.

Asuma: Of course.. Anything for you m'lady.

Kurenai blushes and snuggles closer to Asuma, resting her head on Asuma's neck, and he responds by putting an arm around her waist. They talked for hours, enjoying each other's company. Asuma thinks it's time to tell her.

Asuma: Kurenai...

Kurenai: Hmm?

Asuma: I've been dating you for almost 4 years now. So, I was wondering.....maybe we could be a take a step to our relationship?

Kurenai: What are you saying?

Asuma: Will you be my girlfriend?

Kurenai: I-i...

Asuma nervously chuckles.

Asuma: I-it's alright if you don't want to yet-

Kurenai shuts him up and kisses him. Asuma blushes more like a red tomato and kisses back in relief. Things start to heat up leading to a make out session but they couldn't take any longer and releases to catch some air.

Asuma: S-so i-is that a yes?

Kurenai: Yes you dummy.

They kissed once again and spent the rest of the day with each other until night so that Asuma can spend some time with his family

A few hours later...

Asuma: It's getting late, lemme walk you home.

Kurenai: Thanks.

Asuma: Babe?

Kurenai: W-what?

Asuma: Can't I call you that?

Kurenai: It's okay I guess..

Asuma kisses him again.

Asuma: Thank you. This is the best gift I've ever received in all my birthdays.
