Chapter 9: Confusion, Cringe

???: Heeeey Asuma-kun!

Asuma: Oh hey Izuki, fancy seeing you here.

Izuki: Oh yeah, uncle assigned me a mission here at Iwa, too.

Asuma: I see. Don't you wanna join us?

Izuki: Sureeee!

Kurenai was a bit uneasy and uncomfortable with Izuki and Asuma. She feels like Izuki is flirting with Asuma, so she didn't talk the rest of their time eating, and just responded with a head gesture whenever they ask her a question.

-After eating-

Asuma: Oh yeah that was a great meal isn't it babe?

Kurenai just nods.

Asuma: Uh, are you okay?

Kurenai looks away and keeps distance from the two.

Izuki: What's up with your girlfriend?

Asuma: I'm not sure.

Izuka: Maaaaaaan I don't have time for this, you go on solve your lovey dovey problems with her, imma head back.

Asuma: Alright, keep safe.

Asuma approaches Kurenai and hugs her at her back.

Asuma: Hey. What's up?

Kurenai: Nothing.

Asuma: I know when something's wrong. Tell me.

Kurenai: I said nothing, okay? Now let's go home.

Asuma: I-is it the food? Do you not like it?

Kurenai storms off in the distance.

Asuma: Babe...

They continued walking home not talking with each other because of Kurenai being grumpy all of a sudden.

When they arrived home Kurenai walks into their room and slams the door behind her.

Asuma: Babe, open up come on talk to me no fair. I should know your problems too.

Kurenai gave in and thought to herself that she was getting rude. She unlocks the door and lets Asuma in.

Asuma: Alright. Now tell me what's the problem.

Kurenai: That girl...

She says whispering.

Asuma: What? I didn't quite hear that.

Kurenai: The girl from the restaurant...

She says a bit louder.

Asuma: What about her?

Kurenai: Who is she?

Asuma: Izuki, my cousin. Why?

Kurenai was surprised from what she just heard.

Kurenai: She's just your cousin?

Asuma: Yeah.

Kurenai: Hm. I don't believe you.

Asuma: Man do you want some sort of proof?

Kurenai: M-maybe.

Asuma's face enlightens and giggles at the situation.

Kurenai: What's so funny?

Asuma: Oh, I know where this is heading to.

Kurenai: I don't get you.

Asuma: You're jealous aren't ya.

Kurenai: W-what??? N-no!!

Asuma: Hm yeah right. Now for the proof.

Kurenai: Wait, for real?

Asuma: Mhm.

Asuma leans in to Kurenai and kisses her, Kurenai gives in and deepens the kiss. They soon break apart. Kurenai blushes from what Asuma did.

Kurenai: How is that supposed to be proof??

Asuma: Proof that you're the only one I love~

He says winking at Kurenai.

Kurenai: Mmmm alright fine.

She says while blushing.

Asuma: Love you~

Kurenai: Love you too.

Asuma: Hey, we're the only ones here, and in my room. So~~~~

Kurenai: I know what you're thinking so stop it. It's too early.

Asuma: Oh come on. I know you also wanna~

Kurenai: Lol. No.

Asuma: Awhh come on then when are we gonna have kids??

Kurenai: After you marry me-

Asuma: Oh is that so~

Asuma kneels down on one leg and holds Kurenai's hand.

Asuma: M'lady~

Kurenai blushes but realizes something.

Kurenai: Nope. We're too young.

Asuma: Nah imma do it now. To make sure you're mine forever.

Kurenai: What-

Asuma: Kurenai, the love of my life. I am sure of it that you are that person who is gonna love me through my flaws. Even if we're too young you may say, I wanna make sure that you'll be mine from now on, until death do we part. Kurenai my love, will you marry me when we are at the right age?

Kurenai doesn't know if she wants to laugh or cry at this cringe moment. Kurenai giggles and finally responds.

Kurenai: Fine.

Asuma: Then you're mine~

He got up to his knees and kisses her for several minutes.
