"You really shouldn't be here, man."

Spencer gives Nathanial pleading eyes, to which he shakes his head. "Can I just talk to her?"

"She's not here," Nate says, crossing his arms over his chest. Spencer knows he's lying, and so does Nate. "If she was, I wouldn't let you talk to her anyway."

"Listen, I'm not sure what she told you, but I'm really just here to make things right." Nate scoffs incredulously, and Spencer furrows his brows at him. "She didn't tell me anything, but now I know that there has to be something to tell. Y/N would have never even thought about leaving the BAU unless something caused her to, and I'm guessing you're that something. So the answer is no, you can't see her."

"Listen, this doesn't concern you. Just let me talk to her, please?" Nate takes an intimidating step toward Spencer, shaking his head once more. Spencer takes a step forward, glancing into the apartment. "Y/N!"

Spencer suddenly feels his collar being grabbed by Nate, and his body being slammed up against the wall of the front entrance. "You fucked up, Reid. Now, it's my turn to pick up the pieces. And maybe, just maybe, I can treat her how she deserves. Not how assholes like you and Tristan do, because she is too good for you."

Spencer pushes Nate off of him, dusting himself off and adjusting his shirt collar. "I'm not here to cause problems, I just want to talk. I came all the way here and I'm not leaving until she at least gives me a chance to explain myself."

"I really don't fucking care about why you came here. You need to leave before she gets back." Nate swings the door open, pointing his finger toward the exit, but Spencer stands his ground. He crosses his arms over his chest and shakes his head. "No, I think I'll wait and let her decide."

"Spencer?"

...

Spencer's eyes flick over to you in the front entrance, you just having come back from a meeting with your unit chief. You feel a bubbling rage in your stomach, as well as a pit of sadness from seeing Spencer there, standing before you. You glance over at Nate, "Could we have some privacy?"

"Are you sure?" You nod your head and wait until you hear the sound of his bedroom door slam before turning to face Spencer. "Look, Y/N I'm-"

"Stop talking," you cut him off sharply, taking a step away from him and hugging your arms around yourself as a defence mechanism. "You need to leave. Get on whatever plane you took here and go back home. I don't want to see you."

"Can we just talk please?"

"No, I don't think we can," you shake your head in slight amusement, surprised at the balls he has to show up here after all the shit he's pulled. "I gave you the benefit of the doubt, I really tried. But it's too late now, Reid, and you need to leave."

"If you could just let me explain-"

"No!" You raise your voice, surprised at your own tone. "I don't want to hear your pathetic excuses for whatever stupid thing you did now. What I want is for you to leave this apartment and leave me alone!"

He tries to reach out to touch your arm, but you slap his hand away, taking a step back from him and squeezing your arms tighter around yourself. "Was me leaving not enough of a hint for you, Reid? Hm? Was the message not clear enough for you? I don't want anything else to do with you. I gave you a chance to talk to me and you didn't take it, so that's it. You don't get any more chances."
