a/n: if this chapter makes no sense, i'm sorry. it was so rushed and sloppy and i didn't feel like proof reading it a million times

When the realization clicks in their heads, they all spring into action immediately, leaving the prison as quickly as possible. Hotch calls JJ on the way back to the BAU, informing her of the situation and sending someone over to your apartment to check on you. Hotch breaks about a dozen road rules to get back to the BAU as quickly as possible, everyone completely on edge the entire way there. Spencer bounces his knee repeatedly in the back seat, and no one dares to say anything at all.

Rossi answers the phone for Hotch while he's driving, Spencer practically sitting on the edge of his seat while he tries to read his microexpressions. Rossi sighs, hanging up the phone and shaking his head, "She's gone."

Hotch inhales sharply, slapping his palm against the steering wheel while Spencer clenches his hands into fists, wanting to hit something at the moment, not finding anything in sight. He's the first one out of the car when the SUV pulls up in front of the BAU, everyone else following closely behind him, walking straight into the conference room to find a frantic Derek, JJ, and Penelope.

"Can you get a trace on him, Garcia?" Hotch asks. She shakes her head, "Unfortunately not, sir. His phone was disconnected days ago."

"He's an agent, too, Hotch. He knows how cases like these usually go. We have to think outside the box," Emily chimes in.

"I want a background check on him, Garcia. I want to know everything about him, it could give us some indication as to where he'd take her." Garcia nods her head, frantically heading out of the conference room with her laptop in tow.

Spencer slams his fist down on the roundtable, everyone's heads snapping in his direction, "I should have known something like this would have happened. I had a bad feeling about him from the beginning, but I never thought he'd do this."

"You can't blame yourself, Reid," Morgan tries to assure him.

"Yeah, Reid, I'm sure you had other things occupying your mind at the time," JJ says sweetly. To anyone else, it seems genuine, but Spencer can tell by the slight bite in her tone that she's being passive-aggressive.

"What's that supposed to mean, Jennifer?" Spencer snaps, crossing his arms over his chest and narrowing his eyes at her.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe if you weren't too busy cheating on your girlfriend then-"

"Enough, you two," Hotch interrupts. "We're a team, and right now we need to act like one if we want to find Y/N." Both of them stop talking immediately, continuing to stare each other down. The room falls silent and everyone glances at Spencer wide-eyed as Hotch pulls out his phone, stepping out of the room as he makes a call.

"Will you all stop looking at me like that?" Spencer shouts loudly, bracing his hands on the table in front of him and forming his fists into balls. They all avert their gazes away from him, getting straight to work at the files in front of them, wanting to find you as soon as possible.

...

When you slowly start to come to, you're quick to realize your arms are bound to a chair behind your back, and your eyes immediately shoot open, glancing around the room until you spot Nathanial sitting in a chair across the room.

"Good, you're awake," he grins. He stands up from his chair and drags it over to you, putting it right in front of you and sitting down, knees brushing against yours. You try to wiggle out of the chair, ignoring the burn from the ropes grinding against your wrists. "Don't do that, you'll hurt yourself."
