WARNINGS: i think u guys can guess this one...

"Why are you mad at me?"

You turn the corner into your apartment building, pressing the button of an elevator and stepping inside. You thought Spencer would have left you alone, but you thought wrong because he manages to squeeze himself in the elevator before the doors close. Since he came out of the bank, you've been ignoring him and giving him the cold shoulder. For a genius, you're surprised that he hasn't been able to put it together that you're mad at him for being reckless and stupid, willingly putting himself in a dangerous situation.

He reaches out to touch your arm but you quickly pull away from him, crossing your arms over your chest. "Hey, what's wrong?" You scoff, shaking your head as you step off the elevator, him hot on your trail. You shakily pull your keys from your pocket, unlocking your apartment and stepping inside, going to shut the door, but Spencer jams his foot and manages to force his way inside.

"Why are you so upset? The case ended well. We were able to get all the hostages out with no injuries." You clench your fists at your sides, angrily slipping your shoes off and throwing them on the floor, tossing your go-bag on the kitchen table and walking into your bedroom. You hear Spencer's footsteps following behind you, but you don't spare him a glance. You pull open a drawer aggressively, grabbing a pair of pyjamas and tossing them on the bed.

"Why are you ignoring me? I want you to tell me what's wrong." You move to unbutton your blouse, him turning around immediately to face the wall like he hasn't already seen you naked before. You slide the t-shirt over your head and then move onto your pants, unbuttoning your slacks and sliding on the sweatpants after. With Spencer still facing the wall, you plop yourself in the middle of your bed and pull the book off your nightstand.

"Are you dressed?" You ignore him, hearing a frustrated sigh from him. "I'm turning around," he announces as he turns around to face you. You don't look up from the text in front of you, but you see him in your peripheral coming to kneel down on the bed beside you. He takes the book from your hands and sets it on the floor beside him, resting his head on his forearms as he looks up at you. With no distraction in your hands, you force yourself to focus on the wall in front of you to avoid looking at him, afraid you'll cry or scream if you do.

"Can you look at me?" You pinch your eyes shut, jaw clenching in frustration. "Please?" You draw your attention away from the wall to look at him, eyes narrowing. His hand moves to your thigh, you quickly shrug it off while simultaneously maintaining eye contact with him. "Can you tell me why you're mad at me so I can apologize?"

"You want to know why I'm mad at you?" He nods his head slowly, taken aback by the cold tone you've taken with him. "If I put myself in a dangerous situation and got myself shot and killed, how would you feel?"

His eyes go wide in realization, suddenly realizing why you're mad at him. "Oh," he whispers under his breath.

"I'd like to think you'd be pretty fucking upset right? Pretty angry?" You raise your voice slightly, looking down at his guilty expression. "So think for a minute about how I might have felt to come back to find out that not only did you put yourself in a dangerous situation willingly, but you also gave the unsub your gun and your vest! Do you have a death wish, Spencer? Are you that reckless? You didn't give a second thought before you put your life on the line without a single care in the world for your life or anyone around you who cares about you. So, yeah, I'm mad. I'm mad because you did something reckless and stupid, and it could have cost you your life." By the time you're finished, you're standing up in front of him, chest heaving in anger with your hands gesturing wildly to release all your pent-up frustration.
