Pearl's Pov

"Girls! Luna's here." Mother hollers.

Adagio and I scramble off our beds and zoom through Mother's Villa. From our bedroom to our special space as Mother calls it. We call it our lounge. Through Mother's office and to the main room with the impluvium.

Standing in the front door is Luna. Her medium-length hair is much longer now. So long that she's braided it back in two plaits. She's also grown. At the beginning of grade 9, we were nearly the same height, but now she has a few inches on me.

On the other hand, Mother believes Adagio and I are fully grown. What happened to this immortal's height? I'm short! Even Medora is taller than me. Although she can change between being tall and short. She's taller than Adagio. And Adagio has 7 inches on me.

"You're early."

"I left early. Mom said to go early and not be late. I think she wanted me out of the house."

"You're always welcome here Luna." Mother says patting Luna's shoulder. Mother walks into her room and closes her door. We know if we need anything to knock twice then wait.

"Come let's set up in our room." Adagio motions for us to go to our shared room. The room that used to belong to Megan and Spencer. They haven't lived here since they joined the Generals.

They occasionally stay with Mother. Not often enough for Mother to add another bedroom. They usually stay for a few days before returning to the Generals Villa. That leaves Adagio and me to sleep on the floor. Not that we care. It's fun. Like camping.

Gasp!

I pause in the middle of our lounge.

We should go camping!

"Adagio!"

My sister pauses halfway through the door of our room. She looks at me with intrigue. "What?"

"We should go camping!"

"Oh my gods, yes!" Adagio squeals. We bounce on our heels.

Luna on the other hand has a more tamed reaction. She looks at us like we're strange. Like she can talk. Were all strange. No one is normal. At least not completely.

Luna looks Adagio up and down. "I never thought you'd be a camper,"

"I grew up with Pearl, camping is nothing." Adagio pushes Luna into our bedroom and grabs me. She closes the door behind.

"Hey!"

"I love you and all Pearl but you and I were hyper all the time." Adagio gives me a knowing look. She's right. As kids, we had so much energy. Not that we're any better now. Oh no. We got worse. But we learned to handle the energy during classes. "Camping was fun and easy with Medora and Spyridon."

"Yeah you're right...about the camping, we're still hyper."

"We're not as bad now," Adagio smiles. A light dusting of colour rises to her cheeks.

I smile and take up the seat I was warming on my bed. Adagio opts to sit on the floor between our beds and Luna sits across from me.
