Camping Part 2

Luna's Pov

"Check it out!" Althea shouts. Her pitch increasing a bit, due to excitement. I make my legs go faster. Over the apex, Althea stands at a ledge. Below is a naturally formed pool by a waterfall. It's stunning. Oh, my gods. I love it. How do we get down?

Althea tightens the straps across her chest and her backpack. What is she doing?

"Are we going to swim?"

Althea doesn't answer. Instead, she jumps off the ledge. OH. Gods! She lands in the water with a sploosh. The water from her splash nearly reaches the ledge. When Althea resurfaces she yells at me to join her.

Mmmm.

Pearl yells at me to move. I step to the side and watch as she leaps over the edge. She hoots as she falls. Haris, Chloe, Daryl, Callias and Rainer follow in her footsteps. They go over the edge leaving me, Issac and Adagio.

Isaac leans over my shoulder to look at the pool. He chuckles. "You're not a fan of heights either?"

I shake my head.

"Never have been... you?"

"It's not the height that scares me. It's the feeling of falling," Adagio and I nod along. I knew I was scared of heights. Never would have pegged Adagio for it too.

"Makes sense,"

Below the others have stripped off their soaking clothes leaving them in their swimsuits. They splash and jump on one another. So much fun. Ugh, it doesn't matter. I have to do this. I have to jump.

Alright, Luna. On three. One. Two Three!

Bravely I leap the last few feet forward. Air whooshes past me and soon enough my shoes meet the water. Bubbles float around my face. They tickle my nose. I resist the urge to breathe in. My feet go to push off the bottom but I'm nowhere near the bottom. Geez, this is a deep pool. I kick my way up to the surface.

"Ah," I breathe in deep gulps of air. Sweet gods. I've never had more of an adrenaline rush. I make my way over to the side and pulls myself out.

"Didn't think you had it in you, Luna," Callias says.

I glower. "Don't make me regret that,"

Callias laughs. I follow his line of sight to Isaac carrying Adagio on his back as he floats them down. You have got to be kidding me. They land by Callias and me. I splash them with water. "Why didn't you offer to shuttle me down?"

"I was but you jumped before I had the chance,"

Bitch!

With one last glare at the duo, I strip from my sopping wet clothes to my black bathing suit.

"Adds, Luna, come scrub your body with the sand. It feels amazing." Pearl yells. Adagio and I share a look before swimming over to the submerged ledge. We swim under the waterfall and stand with Pearl, Chloe and Althea. Pearl has collected a bucket full of damp sand.

This will be better than a shower. I smile and begin scrubbing my limps.

"Rainer where's the fishing rods?" Haris yells as he rifles through the back of Rainer's truck.

"Under the hood of the flatbed,"

"Thank you!"

Haris moves along to the flatbed. He opens the back and sure enough, there lay three fishing rods. Fancy. Haris grabs them and hollers for Callias and Isaac. He motions to the lake. The two boys give him a puzzled look. Haris rolls his eyes and holds up the fishing rods.
