It has been a week since Drew and I got in the accident and I go visit him every day but I've been having this strange feeling lately, seems like every time I'm at the hospital this guy is always in the waiting room.
Initially I thought I was just being paranoid but one day I went to the hospital early and as I was walking to Drew's room I seen him coming out, I immediately hid inside the nearest room until the coast was clear then I ran into Drew's room.
When I went into his room I initially thought he was sleeping until I went closer to him and he opened his eyes, I was about to go get a nurse when he gripped my fingers. He couldn't talk yet because he had a tube down his throat so I asked him questions
" Did you know the guy who came in here squeeze once for No and twice for Yes.
" Ow Drew that hurt he released my fingers and I told him I'd be right back ,I told one of the nurses Drew was awake and she went into his room then I went into the waiting room.
As soon as I sat down I noticed I was being watched so I turned around and smiled,
" Hey I'm Rj he said as he extended his hand out to me.
" Hi I'm Elise nice to meet you I said shaking his hand.
" I see you here everyday who do you visit here he asked me.
" I'm an intern and I visit all the patients here I lied ,
" Hey I know we just met but can I ask you something Elise.
'Sure what is it
" I wanted to know how that Andrew kid is doing, ,
"The reason I'm asking is because I was the cause of him having a accident.
I was beginning to grow angry the more he talked but I managed to keep my composer.
" Have you visited him?
"Today was actually the first time I've been to his room and when I went in there he wasn't moving I feel so guilty .
" Does anyone know you're here?
" No, No one knows I'm here because if anyone knew there would be hell to pay .
I wanted to know if that accident was planned so I asked
" what do you mean by there would be hell to pay?
" Elise if anyone from my crew knew I was here right now I'd probably be in the hospital right now, Andrew was supposed to only get scared into coming back to work for us but instead he got hurt.
" why did Andrew work for you guess in the first place?,
" He started working for us because we needed him to keep tabs on someone but since he doesn't work for us anymore we've been having a hard time locating the people he was keeping tabs on. He went on to tell me that this guy name Derek (my dad) owed him and his crew money due to a drug deal gone wrong and his failure to pay can lead to his death .
What he said next really made my blood boil ,he told me that he even was willing to eliminate those closest to my dad if he had to.
" Rj I understand that you Have a job to do but have you thought about whether or not he has a family?,
" I've thought about it but in the same breath I have a life too I know I may sound heartless but I feel like we each made our bed now we must lay in it.
" It's been nice talking to you Rj but I have to go I'm sorry. I got up and went back to Drew's room and when I walked back in there the tube was removed from his throat ,I asked the nurse when he would be going home and she told me he should be able to go home later on today.
I called his mom and told her what the nurse told me and she said she'll be there after she got off of work I told her OK and I'd talk to her later.
Two hours later
Drew was being discharged and I was helping him put his shoes on when Rj walked passed and I began to feel uneasy all over again, Drew took my face in his hands and said don't worry I got you. I was excited that Drew was coming home I actually missed his big head ass and I was glad to see him up again seeing him in a coma made me slightly depressed.
