halle bailey as ariel

halle bailey is gorgeous and talented and she doesn't deserve the hate she's getting for being cast as ariel. disney aren't stupid, they aren't gonna cast someone who isn't good for a role and could ruin their reputation.

ariel is also a mermaid, meaning her race literally doesn't even matter. as long as she has red hair, who cares if she's black?

the only thing i disagree with is that disney need to create their own POC characters (which, they have gotten better at over the years but there's still improvement needed) instead of treating them as replacement for already existing characters. it's cheap.

regardless, im excited to see halle blow our minds as ariel like i know she will because she's a queen.
