Marius

To think he had been able to live without her after their wild separation. Getting through years of just searching for her with a feeble mind, he was sure she wasn't dead but years of distance silenced the sizzle their bond had left in his heart. Trusting the creatures of the night to protect and keep her safe for him wasn't as easy. But no place was like home to him. He cared nothing about his title as he did his mate.  After years of searching and finally finding her, he wasn't planning on losing her to his father's fault.

He stepped into the hospital room. The sweet scent he knew as her ravished his nostrils at its most pristine form. Calling him to his knees, igniting his blood-lust as his head lifted in the air inhaling the unblemished air that was her. His pupils turned blood red in a flash as cold air broke through the window, the curtains bled forward as the wind stretched them to their limits. Recognizing the status quo of the man in the room with them.

Marius took a glimpse of her frail form, laid to sleep with an oxygen mask wrapped around her nose. Her other mate laid his head on her leg as his heartbeat frain his exhaustion.

He glared at her belly noticing its emptiness, miscarriages were always known to change a woman. He secretly hoped nothing of sort occurred to his brisk angel. Days had passed yet she remained in a fragile state. He had been watching from a distance since the incident but the pain of not being close to his heart was starting to take its toll.

His father had gone too far for a son that was already useless for the thrown but he was going to pay for the sin committed against his mate. Definitely, he would make him pay.

He took callous steps towards her bed, his heart burned with vengeance with each step he took towards her. His soul called to claim her as is. Their nights of pleasure weren't meant to end just like that. Staring at her through the portal of his red eyes his hand trailed against her skin her soft skin as tears stained his face.

Victoria.

He had been strong for too long now. It was about time he lost his composure, even if only a moment. Tears watched down his sins, neglected wants and needs.

Marius's breathed a new breathe against her face as he came face to face with her, taking in the texture of her skin and the rhythm of her breathing. He stood back up and took his right wrist in his mouth, piercing his canines into the flesh. He lifted the oxygen mask covering half her face as he pressed her lips open. Placing his wrist against her lips he placed the mask against her nose while watching his blood tricking down her mouth.

The fabrics of his hair moved forward as a hand clenched against his throat, next, the door slammed open as Dam stepped into the room. Immediately pushing him back against the other, but his job was already done. That was all the blood she needed.

"What are you doing to my mate." He couldn't help but notice our disheveled they both looked. Bags framed their eyes, their strength weakened by nights of unrest. Frail like hers. Their bonds to her were the perfect connection.

"I'm not here to hurt her. She's my mate too, you know." He lifted his head back towards Corey who tightened his grip against his neck and gritted his teeth. "I share a mate with you, you know that right?" He gave him a smile before pushing back Corey's chest.

"Uh!?" Dam asked, confused.

"You can ask him." Marius referred Dam to Corey, giving them both a smile as he stepped back from their distance, "she'll be fine." He glanced at her once more, before taking his leave.
