His eyes flashed gold as they raked over Jersey's lean body the moment the words left his lips. His shoulders fell fast as he exhaled, lunging for him in one swift movement of his legs, with an attempt to possibly strangle his life out of his measly body, Corey immediately stood up from where he sat, coming between the two he staked a hold on Dam's shoulder. "Let go of me," he roared as Corey pushed him backward; a few steps away from Jersey.

Jersey was unmoved by the provocative way Dam glanced at him, he was his alpha, his friend, but as a guardian, to his Luna, his position in her condition mattered more than the consequences of disrespecting a more dominant male, at least to him at that moment. So, he looked at them both as he stood still leaning against the window with his back slanted against the frame, he cocked his head up as Dam reached up with his hand -- to move his hair out of his face, "there is also something else that brings focus to that," Jersey continued, closing his eyes and pressing his arms tightly against his chest as Dam sets himself loose from Corey's grip on his shoulders.

Victoria eyed Jersey. 'What are you doing?'

'What I should have done a long time ago.'

"The other sign that signifies the proper completion of the mating ritual is that she goes into heat through the first week or/and second week of your mating. Which she didn't or am I wrong?" He projected his gaze back at Dam as he asked.

The whole building shook at the rumble of a growl from him, "she's freaking human, why would she go into heat for two weeks? Only a day and she couldn't handle it, imagine two weeks?" Though the thought of going into a rut and thinking of nothing else but satisfying his mate and taking care of her through the heat was every alpha's dream, free banging without a single no, who wouldn't want that? But she was human. Humans were designed differently from other 'Were' females and he'd learned just how to handle it, what did he mean by she wasn't his?

"Well you're not her only mate now, are you? She has two dominant males in her life, the mating mark and your blood are supposed to make her go into heat and prepare her body for the birth of the next heir." This time he looked at Corey, his eyeballs raised closer to his eyelids, "it is my job to protect my Luna, I have no obligations in telling you secrets she doesn't want to tell you. I'll continue doing my research and will inform you of any new information as soon as I get any."

Dam and Corey eyed him with a raised brow as he walked slowly and gently beside them, opening the door as quietly as possible, he stepped out with the heat of their gaze penetrating him. "What nonsense was that?" Dam pushed an unsuspecting Corey out of his side so he could get a full view of Victoria's face. "How could he think that you're not my true mate?!" He screeched, his face red with blasphemy. "Do you think I have the time to waste on a woman that isn't my mate? Our 4th year anniversary is just this Saturday, Victoria!" Victoria bit her bottom lips as she eyed his tall, lean-fit, muscular body he didn't even look a day older from when they first met, though his overgrown hair had given him a more stern look rather than the lush hotty spaghetti sauce that he once looked like, and now he even had his beard grown out a little giving him the daddy at daylight look that she sort of hated and would do anything to have him shave his beard and retain his hairstyle. But four years? Time surely does fly.

Thinking of his first question, her eyes furrowed shut as she wondered what he meant by it, what about his ex? Didn't he waste his time with her? But she kept quiet as his face got even darker, his long curly locks covered half his face as he heaved, "why am I the suspected false mate? I have been here since the beginning, and we did the damn stupid ritual the way they told us to do it. Why didn't Arabella tell us you were supposed to go into heat after that first night? Like why don't you know all this?" He turned his gaze from Victoria to Corey.
