The gavel made contact with the table, silencing the muffled sounds echoing in the room. Dam's eyes never left that of Marius's face as the Supreme council spoke. "It's decided, judge Marshall Jakes will be in charge of your mother's court case. Word will be sent out once a date for her judgments has been decided."

"Alright," Dam nodded.

"Very well then, the meeting is adjourned." Dam watched the council members step out of their high seats. His eyes fixated on Marius's amused gaze as he took a standing along with the rest.

"Can we have a word, Marius?" He gritted out, his fingers tangled into his disheveled black hair as his sharp green eyes watched Marius's stance carefully -- ready to move at his attempt. Dam cocked his chin up as Dice Sasha places a hand on Marius's elbow, whispering into his ears.

Moments later, Marius pulled out of his chair. Heading straight towards the door, with no mention of their eminent discussion Dam took large steps behind him. No matter how vehemently Dam begged, that the idea of him being her third mate wasn't true, at the back of his mind he knew everything was true. Their interactions with each other when they were reunited months ago, justified the reasons for his jealousy. Their souls had reconnected. Possibly a more potent bond binds them both to each other than the one he shared with her. But he didn't want to believe it. He'd die before agreeing to have yet another man touch his mate. Victoria was his.

He pushed through slow big-assed men parading through the hallway, jumping past Dice Sasha in an attempt to push Marius against the wall. He was slammed to the floor by a hit from Dice. Falling face first, he glared up at the smirk written all over Dice's face.

A menacing growl tore through him as he jumped up, pushed Dice into the wall opposite him with so much force he disappear into a hole formed by his body. "That was unnecessary, I was only leading you to my office. Our discussions are private isn't it?" His green eyes grew aflame as they traced the evidence of a smile on Marius's face. "Follow me," he opened his office doors, "don't be a scaredy-cat."

Standing in the hallway a minute longer, he placed both hands in his pockets as he stepped into the room regally. "You're the last person I expected to visit my office today, Dam. How may I be of service?" Dam glared down at the legs Marius had stretched out on the table.

A low growl rumbled in his chest as he waved both Marius's back to the ground, he sat at the end of the table before Marius could comprehend the fast movement of things. "What game are you playing?"

The smile drained out of Marius's face, and he straightened up on the chair with eyes as smokey as the alpha sitting on the table he said, "protecting my mate isn't a game to me. You couldn't save her and I had no other choice but to butt in."

Dam growled in his face with canines projecting, "by staining her being with your blood?"

"Victoria belonged to me before she was ever yours," Marius couldn't help the rage that vibrated through his pulse as he rose from the chair, with his face held down towards Dam's face as the alpha took notice of the challenge, barring his canines in the air he rose from the table to his full height.

"Then why did you let her go? I made her who she is now and I wouldn't be needing any assistance from you to pull her back to reality. Don't come near her or I'll tear your throats out and feed it to vultures."

Marius huffed at his accusations, "I never let her go..." Realizing he was waiting his time he watched Dam step back from his face. "She'll come to me when she's ready and I'll accept her because you've already done the unforeseeable." Marius gritted out, stepping out of the desk in slow strides, with a smirk on his face he placed both his arms against his chest, "We both know how hazardous you're for her, you're slowly losing your sanity and soon you'll lose her and not just to Corey but you'll lose her to me as well."
