< Thanksgiving >{ Laken }
I sat on the floor in front of the full-length mirror in mine and Ashton's room while he was showering.
Ashton and I were invited to my family Thanksgiving. My grandparents begged me to come and I couldn't say no to them. The only thing Ashton and I are worried about is my parents and them making a scene. They're the only ones who aren't too thrilled about the pregnancy.
My thoughts about how things were going to go bad stopped when Ashton opened the bathroom door, walking into the room with just a towel around his waist,
"I forgot my clothes" he laughed, making his way to our bed where his stuff laid. He dropped his towel and started getting dressed,
"I'm not complaining" I winked, making him laugh as he shimmied his boxers, tan shorts, and white shirt on. We were kinda matching as I was wearing a white sundress,
"Can you dry my hair?" Ashton whined, walking back into the bathroom. He hates going out with his hair wet.
I stood and walked into the small bathroom as he plugged my hairdryer in. I hopped up on the counter while he stood between my legs with his back to me as I dried it, still needing him to bend down since he's so tall.
"Thank you" he pecked my lips and bounced out of the bathroom. I shook my head and laughed, cleaning up the bathroom from the mess Ashton made.

We got to my grandparents and sat in the car in the driveway, neither of us ready to get out yet. I was holding Ashton's hand with one of mine while my other rested on my stomach,
"You okay?" I asked Ashton,
"I'm okay. I'm just nervous" he sighed and squeezed my hand, just as the little girl in my stomach kicked,
"I think she's telling you that you'll be okay" I smiled and moved his hand to my stomach, our girl moving around like crazy,
"Thanks baby girl" Ashton giggled, leaning down and kissing my stomach, "Okay, I think I'm ready"
We both got out and Ashton gripped my hand.
We walked around the back of the house to the patio where my family was. My grandpa saw me first, rushing over and hugging me,
"Oh Laken" he smiled, holding me at arm's length, "You're looking wonderful"
"Thanks Grandpa" I smiled, then looked at Ashton as my grandma walked up,
"Grandpa, Grandma, this is Ashton"
"It's wonderful to meet you" my grandma hugged him and grandpa shook his hand,
"Taking care of your girls?" Grandpa eyed,
"Absolutely"

My parents had managed to avoid Ashton and me, which was fine. But, now we are sitting down for dinner and I know a conversation will probably come up.
I gently squeezed Ashton's hand under the table then let go so we could eat,
"So Laken, Ashton" my uncle spoke up, "How's everything with the baby?"
I smiled but then frowned as I heard my parents scoff,
"Everything's really good. We're having a girl" I grinned as Ashton's hand went to my thigh,
"That's good" he smiled, "I'm happy for you all"
"You won't be happy for her when he leaves her and she's a single mom begging at our doorsteps" Mom scoffed. Both my grandparents sent her a look,
"I'm not leaving them" Ashton's eyes narrowed, "I hate that you think that of me"
"It's not like you can support them both. Hell she doesn't even have insurance anymore" Dad piped in,
"I can support them and I am. My job pays well. It may be a shitty job, but my boss is chill. He gave me a major raise, switched my hours to I'll be with Laken and the baby. He even got Laken on our company insurance- an insurance that covers just about everything" Ashton defended,
"Wow. You're a determined guy" My uncle acknowledged,
"I just want Laken and our little girl to have the best life" Ashton sighed, sitting back in his chair,
"Stop blaming all this on Ashton. It takes two to make a baby you know" I spit, making my grandpa stifle a laugh as my parents just shook their heads,
"Look, they didn't come to be attacked like this. I didn't even want you to come. So cut it out or leave. You already disowned her. You pushed her away from you. Don't you dare push her away from us because of your actions" my grandma went off.
Both my parents mouths dropped. They both stood and walked out. I sighed and looked down,
"I'm sorry you two" my aunt spoke soft,
"It's fine. We expected it" I sighed, "We're use to the looks too. That's what happens when your young, not married, and pregnant walking around in public"
"You shouldn't have to deal with that. Yeah, maybe it wasn't an ideal situation, but there's nothing you can do about it now" Grandpa spoke as Ashton grabbed my hand,
"But you guys are so happy. You are so excited to be parents and I know you all will do an excellent job. That little girl is going to grow up with so much love"
"Thanks Grandma"

I got out of the shower, expecting to find Ashton in bed, but he wasn't. I slowly went downstairs, finding Mikayla and Katie in the kitchen,
"Where's Ash?" I asked,
"He's out back with the boys. They were talking" Katie nodded her head,
"Did something happen? He looked upset" Mikayla questioned,
"Got attacked by my parents" I sighed, walking over to the back door. I looked out finding him and the boys sitting around the table and drinking beers. He was smiling so I wasn't going to walk out and bother him.
I moved around the kitchen, making myself popcorn and getting water before going into the living room with Mikayla and Katie. We popped a movie in and settled in.
The boys came in a little later and Ashton came and curled next to me on the couch. Luke and Michael found places on the floor while Calum sat between Mikayla and Katie,
"You okay?" I whispered as Ashton leaned onto my shoulder,
"I'm wonderful" he smiled, "I'm with you, my bestfriends, and my baby..."
"I'm doing pretty damn good"
