Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and... Rena Rouge?

Going to visit Alya in the middle of the night started to become a daily occurrence (or rather nightly). It was mostly because Alya had been getting busier as summer drew nearer. Otis was bringing her with him to talk about the animals he's researched and to learn more about them. She would speak for him to give them more of a public appeal. Alya wasn't quite fond of it - especially because she knew her father was Velvet Wings - but regardless, she did it.

So during those nights, Marinette would lay on Alya's shoulder; Alya with her arm around her girlfriend. They would talk about some of the silliest things and school stuff. Other times they wouldn't talk at all. Their relationship wasn't public. They had decided to keep it secret when Marinette had told Alya about the Chat Blanc timeline. That conversation led to another conversation about how scared she was that Chat Noir could become so hurt and angry.

To distract Marinette, Alya brought up the school's dance (it was an American type dance, Nino's idea). He had mentioned it was like a prom and the way he described it reminded Alya of Chloé's birthday party. Apparently, Marinette had no idea this was happening.

"When did this get announced?!"

"M, it was announced over a month ago!"

"And I haven't heard of it?!"

"You oversleep too much, girl."

That was a humorous topic to bring up to her girlfriend.

Some things changed with the press too. One had seen Ladybug go through Alya's window and word spread like wildfire. Alya learned she wasn't out of the closet to her dad yet but he was just as supportive here as he was at home (thank the gods for that). However, the press wanted details. Some even suggested more explicit things going on behind the scenes and Otis shut them up real quick, Alya was only sixteen.

But they did like to catch the two heroes and interrogate them. They had used the excuse of their Miraculous beeping and having to transform back too often. The two knew it was inevitable but it still was a pain. One reporter grabbed Rena Rouge's arm.

"How does it feel to know your partner is with another girl?" The heroine shrugged them off her arm.

"It's her life and frankly, whatever she does in her free time is none of my business. Ladybug is not my girlfriend and who she dates is also none of my concern." The thought of Ladybug (Marinette) with another girl made her incredibly jealous but Rena Rouge knew that in this case, the "other girl" was actually her.

The two heroes went away without another word, landing far away from the scene in a dark alleyway, the perfect place to detransform. They silently did so, only breaking it to say their detransformation words.

"Spots off."

"Fall back." They left the alley together, walking side by side. Marinette was confused but satisfied with Alya's answer. However, Alya was struggling with her words. She didn't care who Marinette was with, as long as they made her happy, but was it really not caring? Maybe it was jealousy, it most likely was jealousy, but what would happen when they got home? Would Marinette even remember this? Would Alya remember this? Their relationship would be pointless. And she would end up helping Marinette with Adrien again.

It was stupid to think about, really she was probably going to not even remember this and Marinette would be back to flirting with Chat Noir as well as hopelessly chasing Adrien. Instead of focusing on the negatives, she should focus on the positives of being there with her girlfriend. It's not like she was just magically going to like Nino again anyway, her feelings for Marinette were real so they should be real when they are truly home too, just undiscovered.
