The Calm Before The Storm

"Evy, Come over here!" My sister Serita called. Me being my curious self went to go investigate. I found her standing out the front door of our charming cottage."What are so eager to show me Ser?" I asked intrigued."Our annual Avaranian festival is today! They are setting up over there! Can we please go and take a peak?" She asked with a pout. I contemplated on whether or not we  should. The Avaranian festival is a huge event for our planet. Everyone attends and everyone leaves excited for next year because they didn't want it to end. There is always a surprise object of rarity at the event. No one is allowed to go near the festival before it starts. I told my younger sibling "Serita, you know that we aren't allowed to even step foot in the area. It keeps the surprise special.She gave me a look of desperation "Please?? I promise we won't get caught!" I looked at her feeling myself get caught in her sparkling puppy dog eyes. I finally said "Alright! But we can't tell anyone where we are going!" She jumped up and gave me the biggest hug and said "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Did I ever mention that you are my favorite older sister?" I looked at her and laughed loudly. "I'm your only older sister. Ser, you crack me up!" We both walked out of our cottage and went to leave when our mother spotted us while tending to our garden. "Where are you two off to?" She asked suspiciously. Serita looked at me as to find the answer. I spoke for her and said " We are going to find stones to collect!" My mother looked as though she didn't believe me but said "Ok. But take Corina with you. She spends to much time alone." I responded "Alright! See you in a bit, Ma." My mother then returned inside after tending to the garden to make dinner. My younger sister rolled her eyes and slumped down. "Do we have to take Cor with us? She's going to blab where we went! Plus she never talks to us." I looked at her saying "Ser... she is our younger sister. She's going to need us when she doesn't have anyone else." She looked down knowing that what I was saying was true. "Ok.... but she can't tell mom or dad where we're going." I looked at her and smiled. "Don't worry.... we can bribe her with a new book!" Serita smiled and went inside to grab Corina and we went on our way. We returned with some stones we found and with seeing the festival. When we arrived home, we began to eat our dinner. "So... what did you girls do today?" Asked our Father. "Well, we picked some good looking stones for our collection. We had a really good time." Serita had said. "We also snuck in to see the festival." Corina had blurted out. I had put my head in my hands. "You weren't supposed to tell them Cor!! We can't take you anywhere!" My sister said with her face getting flushed with anger. "You snuck into the festival? You know that everything in there is a surprise? Evelin, why didn't you tell Serita no?" My mother said frustrated. "I'm sorry. Serita really wanted to go and I couldn't say no." I said looking at my hands. " You all lied so I think the proper punishment is the all three of you will not go to the festival tomorrow." My father said with a hint of disappointment but with a stern voice. "But that's not fair. The festival only comes once a year!" Corina said with her voice breaking. "Well you should of thought of that before you went and lied through your teeth. My decision is final." My father then stood up and walked out of the dining area but not before saying " Evelin.... I expected better from you. You are the older sister. You are supposed to keep your sisters in check when your mother and I aren't around. I'm very disappointed.... in all of you." The rest of us ate our food in silence and headed to bed. I sat in my bed dreading to hear my sister complain but little did I know that my life would change forever tomorrow night.
