Taking Chances

They said that this moment couldn't happen

I thought I'll say it's true

But I am in euphoria right now

It's a feeling that I just can't subdue

---

It's been so long since I've entered this arena. Who would have thought that the deafening shouts of the fans can be so comforting? The sounds that you hear brought back the memories that I thought I couldn't resurface. It's a good feeling, yet it also brought back the moments that you wish that didn't happen, because every time you remember them, your heart just stings a little bit.

I looked around to find Cel and Maki. I know that even though I am not playing anymore, they became fond of volleyball and they love to taunt me whenever my team is losing.

I cannot find them so I called them despite knowing that it'll be hard to hear them because of the crowd.

"Hey Maks, where are you?"

"We got stuck in traffic here in Pasig. You know naman, people got so excited to go out..." I sighed and rolled my eyes

"Hurry  up!" I said irritatingly.

"Like how we're supposed to do? Make the car fly?" Cel said in the background.

"Hay nako Bei I know you're bored na. Just find someone there that you can hang with for the meantime."

"Fine."

"Love you Beibei. See you!"

Maki ended the call before I can diss them. Hay those two talaga.

I looked around in hopes of finding someone. A few people approached me to asked for a photo op. Wow this feels so nostalgic, too. Before, I sometimes get a little vexed whenever a lot of people are pushing themselves towards me, especially during the COVID scare. But now, it just feels so good to be back to normal, without having to worry that you might get sick even with little contact.

The fans thanked me after the photo op and I just smiled at them. I turned around and bumped into a huge person. Good thing my face is far away from his. I heard loud giggles from the people that saw the collision. I made an eye roll in my head.

"Hey Bea! It's nice to see you here." I smiled.

"It's nice to see you too, Thirds. I didn't know that you're here already." I said.

"Yeah. Been here since last Friday. I just didn't want anyone to know yet so I stayed in a hotel for a while." I nod in approval

"So you just decided to go hide for two days from everybody else?"

"Well, yeah!" We giggled and I noticed that he looks different.

"Kinda glad that you dyed your hair back to black." He scratched his nape to hide his embarrassment.

"Yeah. Realized that I looked better with black hair."

"You do?" I teased him. He laughed at my remarks. I missed this.

"I missed you Bea. Quarantine is such an all time low, but I'm glad that I got to experience your tough love." He giggled. I think I froze inside so all my body managed to do is to let out an awkward laugh. He messed my hair so I slightly tapped his hand. He shook his head while smiling.

"Who are you watching with?"  He asked.

"I'm supposed to watch with Cel and Maki but they got stuck in Pasig, 'cause you know, traffic."
