Ateneo de Manila University's Grand Reunion, 3 years later
As I get off my car, flickers from the camera immediately welcomed me. I gave the valet guy my keys and ran for the shotgun seat's door
"Thirdy! Thirdy!"
I opened the door and offered my hand, and suddenly, I saw the flickers lighting up twice as they usually does
"Oh my God Thirdy! Bea!"
"Bea! Please look here!"
"Thirdy!"
The ushers assisted us papasok sa venue, not really minding the photographers that were taking pictures. When we got to the red carpet, a different set of photographers were taking photographs of us. After a few shots, I looked at the end of the carpet and saw Ate Lau
"So we have here Thirdy Ravena and Bea de Leon. How are you guys?" she said enthusiastically
"I'm doing great ate Lau! You look extra gorgeous tonight. Seems like you haven't aged!" Bea said while pointing out Ate Lau's ensemble
"Thanks Bea. You look amazing as always... Anyways, how about you Thirdy? I heard that you're retiring from PBA this year…"
"Never been better Ate Lau, and yes… alam mo naman we're getting older and I felt that this is the proper time to step down from the basketball scene and focus on other personal and business matters…" I said
"Did you two arrived together?" she asked
"Uhh yeah we came together…" after Bea said that, Ate Lau immediately gave us a meaningful look
"Is there something we ought to know?" she teased
"Oh no no ate Lau. Absolutely not…" I quickly answered
"Well seems like your answers never changed throughout the years…" she laughed
"Anyways I'll let you go na. You guys enjoy the rest of the evening!" we bid our goodbyes and headed inside...
The whole venue is filled with many familiar faces. They welcomed us with smiling faces and we did the same
"Thirds andun sila sa middle…" Bea motioned me to the table where our friends/teammates are
"Naks here's ThirBea for y'all!!!" Maddie shouted. She stood up and gave us a hug. We then proceed to greet everyone. The table is filled with our friends while the younger gens were on the table next to us
"Akalain mo nga naman. Never expected na sabay kayong darating dito…" Matt said
"Di ba talaga natin inexpect?" Mike teased
"Kayo talaga!" I sratched my nape in embarassment
"Asus nahiya pa. Maupo na nga kayo…" Therese commanded
The whole night, we were just catching up. Well there's nothing much to catch up because we never lost contact with each other for the past years. So we were just reminiscing everything from our college days
"Naalala niyo ba nung nang-away si Bea ng referee before. That was hilarious!" the whole table laughed but Bea just pouted
"Grabe kayo! Ehhh what about naman the time when Maddie almost hit me on the interview when we were playing emoji charades…" Bea answered back
"Engk that wasn't college na foul, not counted!…" then everyone laughed again
Sir Ebe Dancel is playing in the background as we were talking. Minsan lumilingon ako to see him 'cause I've been a fan of them since sugarfree pa. He's in his near 60s but he still plays as if the years never passed by
