"Itadori! Open u-u-u-up!"
Gojō's voice was a playful melody as he knocked on his student's door the next morning, ready and dressed for a day of adventure. On his back he wore a plain, black backpack that he had packed with Keigo's essential items— a handful of diapers, baby wipes, and several changes of clothes, to name a few— and in his hand, he clutched the handle of Keigo's car seat as he awaited Itadori's reply.
After a mostly smooth night with Keigo, in which the infant surprisingly followed the rigid schedule that was outlined in his notebook, Gojō had perused through the rest of Keigo's bag and discovered the tremendous wealth buried at the bottom. It was obvious that whoever had left Keigo there was planning on leaving him in Gojō's hands for several weeks, even possibly months, and rather than wait around for any answers, Gojō knew he had some serious adjustments to make.
"... huh? Gojō-sensei, what is it?"
Gojō grinned mischievously at his pupil, reaching out and ruffling the top of his already unkempt hair.
"Get dressed, we're leaving in twenty minutes!" sang the white haired male, earning a look of sleepy confusion from Yūji.
"... what?"
"I've already stopped by Fushiguro and Kugisaki's rooms to tell them as well," elaborated Gojō, still beaming brightly at his student. "We'll meet up in the common room when you're all ready. Okay?"
Yūji let out a loud yawn and waved away Gojō, closing his door on his teacher with a faint, "... alright, got it."
Wide awake and ready to take on the day, Gojō hummed to himself as he headed back to the common room with Keigo, where he took a seat on one of the couches and waited for the first years. He was joined by Megumi just a few minutes later, and beckoned for him to join him on the couch.
"My, my, you're very fashionable on your days off, aren't you?" mused Gojō, analysing Megumi's outfit.
"It's just a hoodie and jeans. Everyone wears this these days." Megumi sighed and sat beside his teacher, before glancing at Keigo's car seat. Although he was awake, he was deathly quiet. "Um, are all babies meant to be quiet?"
"I'd rather he be quiet than screaming his head off," said Gojō, rubbing his chin. "He was actually quite tame last night. But, there was one incident where he randomly started crying in his sleep, and I had to re-read the chapter on 'how to soothe him when he cries in his sleep' to get him back to sleep. The notebook makes everything a piece of cake- every time I think up a scenario, I see a chapter that's been written specifically for it. Honestly, this whole parenting thing is so easy! Why do people complain about it being hard?!"
Megumi grimaced at his teacher's smug words, visibly unimpressed.
"... right. But surely, he'll be returned to his parents when we find out who they are?"
"Finding out who he belongs to is one thing, but finding out where they've gone is a completely different story. You'll be surprised at how easy it is for someone to disappear when they don't want to be found."
"But he's a Sugawara, right? Maybe he belongs to a distant relative of yours?"
"Right now, that's what I'm thinking. Plus, since the kid came with a lot of money, that's another clue that whoever left him here is quite well off. But... it also makes me think that he might be with us for quite a while."
"... how long is 'a while'?"
"Maybe the entirety of our summer break?"
"What?! That long?!"
