When Pepper Potts recieved the call Wednesday morning she was suprised to say the least, not expecting what was to come.
When Tony Stark disapeared from the face of the earth, the world turned to madness, everyone trying to find a glimpse of him, Obidiah was pleased, Pepper was distraught, and the world; well they were as confused.
When Pepper got the call from Social services, she was talking to James Rhodes (Quick Authors note: Rhodey's aesthetic or introduction will be at the bottom) Rhodey was Tony's best friend and lieutenant Colonel for the United States Military, they were talking about any sightings of Tony, which had been Zilch.
"Hello Pepper Potts, in fill for Tony Stark, how may I help you today?"
The distraught was evident in her tone as she hurriedly answered unbeknownst to the surprise on the other end of the phone.
"Miss Potts, I am Jane Wright from CSD, the child services department, do you know when Mr Stark would be able to come to the phone?"
When Pepper heard the snarky and condescending tone Jane Wright held she was ready to punch her, Rhodey noticed this and took the phone from Pepper's clenched fist.
"Hello Miss Wright, I am James Rhodes, we are still unsure as to when Tony will get back, but until then Pepper and I will be in charge as well as Obidiah Stane, so If there is any information you wish to share with Tony, you can share with us."
James Rhodes was a very polite man, but recently he had been on the edge due to Tony's disappearance.
"Well Mr Rhodes I would prefer if we could meet in person, so I could relay the news, preferably the Metro General Hospital."
Pepper and Rhodey quickly caught confused and concerned faces, worried as to why they would have to meet at the hospital?
"Yes Miss Wright we will meet you there, what time would you prefer?"
"Around 3:45 would be the preferable time."
Authors Note: Hi everyone, quick question would you prefer long chapters or short Chapters, this is my first book, so I'm unsure as to what people would prefer, if you could please answer in the comments. That would be great. P.S I'm British so if my slang is a little weird it's because of that.
