"Wait - no way. Are" - Dream took a moment, trying to collect his thoughts and fully grasp an understanding of the situation, "-are you being serious right now?" His voice sounded genuinely surprised, making me smile inwardly.
I glanced at his discord profile picture, giving him a halfhearted, pointed look. "Does it look like I'm joking to you?" I rhetorically asked, sarcasm under-toning my words.
A thin green circle surrounded his profile picture when he took in a shallow breath. "Y/n - I can pay for you, seriously," I smiled at his generosity but waited for him to finish before speaking. "I invited you over. It's only fair."
"Hell no." I snorted, shaking my head. "This is my decision. Plus, I can pay for my own stuff." I laughed for a moment. "I get you've got big-money-bucks and all, but that doesn't mean you can indirectly middle-class shame me."
Just like I knew it would, my jest sent him into a spiral of a stuttering mess. "No- no that's not what I meant- I didn't mean you were poor or couldn't afford it- I know you can-" his ramble went on for what felt like twenty minutes. Seeing him so flustered was funny to me, I can't lie.
I feigned a sigh, drawing it out for exaggeration in hopes he'll detect my antics. "The fame's already gotten to his head..." I shook my head at the last few words, fighting back the smile that threatened to conclude the joke by giving away my blatant sarcasm.
"What? No! I told you-"
A wide grin crossed my face once again. I started laughing and eventually his words, which once tumbled over each other, started drowning out to a fade at the realisation I was taking the piss the entire time.
I could almost hear his deadpan. "You," he started, voice pointed and accusatory, "are an asshole. You know that?"
"Of course, of course."
A few clicks later, the plane tickets had been purchased. Tickets - yes, plural. As in more than one. Because I can't just fly alone to Florida - I mean I totally could, but going on flights alone was daunting, so no thanks -, so I asked Chloe to come along with me.
"A-a-and, done!" I cheered with finality, clapping my palms together once and saving copies of the digital tickets.
"LET'S GOO-!" Dream shouted into his mic, causing it to cut off halfway through the scream. "-orge is gonna be happy about that. He's been looking forward to streaming together."
I smiled warmly, falling back into my chair and staring at the ceiling, mentally making a bucket list of things to do once I'm over.

The author cannot be bothered writing a whole airport scene, so she decided to fall back on god's gift which is time skips and plot convenience and have me already landing in Florida (where George is also conveniently staying with Dream. Yes, she likes breaking the fourth wall. No, you cannot do anything about it).
The airport, my complete surprise, was nearly dead. There were only a handful of people around, most likely due to my particular flight being at four in the morning, my time.
Chloe yawned from next to me, grey eyes slightly watery from the tiredness. It was an eight hour flight, just about, and needless to say we were absolutely exhausted. Especially considering neither Chloe nor I can sleep on planes, so we've had yet the chance to get proper rest.
