Season one, Episode eight. "Molting."

[one month later]

It had been a month since Cobra Kai had heard they were aloud to compete in the All Valley Tournament which only meant the training had been getting harder and harder as the competition got closer.

So, Johnny had the idea to get all his students to join him at the scrap yard, and by eleven o'clock everyone was stood waiting for their 'lesson' to begin. Charlee close to the front along with Miguel, Liv and Hawk, she was talking to Hawk since Miguel and Liv were having their own conversation, mainly Liv judging Miguel about his relationship with Sam. So Charlee started a small conversation between the boy beside her, "What do you think we're going to do here?" she asked, "I have no fucking clue. Sensei is always full of surprises." Hawk sighed.

And before Charlee could even respond Sensei Lawrence stood on top of an old and broken car, snapping open a beer can and taking a sip before speaking up, "You've trained hard. You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right?" Johnny asked, "Yes, Sensei!" everyone yelled, "Wrong!" Johnny shook his head throwing his beer can onto the ground right in front of the teams.

"That was a waste of beer." Liv muttered making Charlee chuckle, "The best ain't shit! You wanna win the All Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than you best. Which is why from now on, you're gonna get my worst." Johnny told them.

"Wait, this pass month hasn't been his worse?" Charlee whispered to herself but Hawk heard her comment and smiled down at her, "Do you understand?" Sensei questioned.

"Yes, Sensei!" everyone replied, "Are you losers?" Johnny asked them all, "No, Sensei!" "Are you nerds?" "No, Sensei!" "Are you sure?" Johnny wanted clarification, "No, Sensei!" the team responded only to make Johnny face palm.

The first training section was running through the set out tires, at first everyone was doing good but that was until Aisha tripped and fell, causing a human dominos to start. Miguel wasn't able to stop so he fell onto Aisha, followed by Hawk, Charlee then fell on him and Liv landed on her.

"Fuck." Liv groaned as she stood up, using Charlee as her support pushing her further into the others and then pushing her off Hawk by accident, "Ow." Charlee groaned as she landed on the floor again. "You alight there, Charlee?" Liv laughed and with no energy the brunette flipped her friend off.

Once Hawk had gotten to his feet her stepped over to where Charlee was laying and he held his hand out for Charlee to grab, and when she did he pulled Charlee up to standing, before walking over to Miguel just missing the light blush appear on Charlee's face.

Next Johnny handed all of the kids metal or wooden pieces which resembled a bat, "Your enemies are all around you. Destroy them!" he instructed and once Liv and Charlee heard this they high fived and walked off from the group smashing anything in sight.

The two girls found an old parking lot near by, with rusted cars all over the place, so they decided to stay on the first floor and 'attack the enemies'. Charlee used the wooden table leg Sensei gave her and she held it like a bat swinging it into a half fallen off car door making it move and to finish it off the girl used her leg and kicked the rest of the door off.

Liv was on the other side of the lot throwing piece of scrap in the air before using a smaller metal pole to hit them into the walls, or she used the end of her pole to smash the remaining glass on any cars.

The two could hear yells and smashing all over the place and once they had enough of the parking lot they decided to leave, Charlee rested the pole on her shoulder as she walked by Liv's side.

"Do you know how this is helping us?" Liv asked, "Attacking, ma--" before Charlee could even respond a loud crash came from the left of them making loud screams escape their mouths. Looking in the direction of the crash the two girls saw an old car with a heavy piece of scrap crushing down on it.

Charlee heard laughs from above her and once she looked up her eyes locked with another pair of blue ones, a glare made it's way to Charlee's face when she realised Hawk and Miguel were the guilty ones for her almost heart attack, "I'm gonna kill them."

"Who?" Liv asked as she moved her attention from the crushed car to her best friend beside her, seeing that Charlee was looking somewhere else Liv followed where she was looking and her eyes fell upon Hawk and Miguel who were doing their handshake while laughing down at the two. "I'll be right behind you." Liv muttered.

Charlee smirked and then raised her voice, "You better start running!" and both of the boys faces dropped immediately when they saw Liv and Charlee disappearing back into the parking lot, the two ran up the ramps to the level where Miguel and Hawk stood only a few moments ago.

But once they got up to where they used to be both of the boys were no where in sight, Liv walked up to the balcony looking over the edge only to catch sight of Miguel and Hawk running out the side exits, "Pussies." she chuckled and Charlee joined her side, "You got lucky!" she called out jokingly and Hawk stuck out his middle finger while they continued to run off.

After a while Johnny called Hawk, Miguel, Aisha, Liv and Charlee all over to a large scrap bin which was filled with old metal car parts and a long beam lay across it from one end to the other, "Balance is key! But how you get that balance is hard. If you slip you die! Or lose, let's go with lose." Johnny muttered the last part.

"Go!" Sensei nodded his head and Miguel stepped up and walked across the beam, "Attaboy! Come on, princess. Let's go. Move that ass." Johnny encouraged, Miguel only wobbled a few times but he successfully got across, next was Liv.

"Don't be a chicken, get across this beam and show everyone how it's done!" Sensei instructed and Liv climbed onto the start of the beam running over it with ease, and once she was at the end Liv notice how Miguel had his back to her so she took the chance and bunny hopped over him, using his shoulders to get herself over.

"There's nothing to fear except for fear itself. That, and falling in sharp metal and broken glass, so don't do that!" Johnny explained as he tried to ignore Miguel and Liv fighting in the background, he signalled of Hawk to go next and the boy confidentially stepped up and began to walk over that was until his foot slipped and he almost fell in, but quickly he caught himself and got to the end stepping off the beam and onto the car roof.

"Dragon! Be the animal you really and burn this shit to the ground! Or be a bitch and become a little lizard. Go!" Sensei force and Charlee got onto the end of the beam, feeling that familiar feeling of everyone's eyes on her, and wanting to show off a bit Charlee took a few steps before doing a very slow and controlled cartwheel. Once Charlee's feet touched the other side of the beam she began to pull her upper body back up but she did that too fast and felt her body falling back.

Charlee waited to feel the sharp pain of glass and metal piercing her skin but it never came, instead she felt two hands firmly around her waist, "Falling for me, I see." Hawk smirked, "You wish." Charlee replied pulling away from the boys grasp and she stepped to the end of the beam flipping off and walking over to Liv and Miguel thinking how much gymnastics helped her back there.
