Season one, Episode seven. "All Valley."

[the next day]

"I need somewhere romantic, but not too romantic." Miguel told his friends while each of them warmed up close to each other, "You still haven't chosen a place? Why not jus--" Charlee was cut off by Liv, "Give up, just call and tell her you don't like her and it was a prank." Liv shrugged.

"No!" Both Miguel and Charlee raised their voices, "I can't do that, why would you say that?" Miguel asked, directing his question at Charlee.

"What? I wasn't gonna say that, I was gonna say, why not just call her and see what she wants to do." Charlee repeated what she was going to say whilst sending a small glare Liv's way.

There was a small silence as Aisha rolled her eyes and Hawk thought of a 'date idea', "You could take her to get tattoos." Hawk spoke up, Aisha laughed while Miguel looked at him in confusion, "What is he going on about?" Charlee muttered to herself watching as Hawk got up onto his feet and walked over to stand by her. "I know a guy, just hooked me up with this bad boy."

Hawk then took off his shirt revealing a new and very large hawk on the top of his back, Charlee's eyes widened in shock, not only at the tattoo along the teenagers back but the muscle Hawk actually had. Charlee didn't expect what she saw, he had toned arms and a visible six pack, but quickly Charlee realised she was staring and looked away listening to what her friends were talking about.

"Oh shit." Miguel gaped, Aisha just laughed once again shocked that Hawk did such a thing, "That is badass." Liv chuckled high fiving the boy before looking over at Charlee seeing her sitting down by Miguel, her cheeks bright red.

"Right? 14 hours in the chair." Hawk explained as he flexed in front of the mirror his eyes glancing at Charlee seeing she was looking at him and a small smirk made its way to his face before Hawk turned back and put his top back on and sat by Charlee.

"Wait. Are your parents ok with that?" Aisha asked, "Oh, they have no idea. Definitely gonna have to wear a T-shirt until college. Probably longer. Please don't tell them." Hawk told them, the 'Eli' side of him coming out.

"Uh... any other suggestions?" Miguel asked turning to Aisha, purposely ignoring Hawk, Charlee and Liv's ideas. "Don't look at me. Sam and I used to be friends. We're not anymore." Aisha shook her head, "Ok, but I need your help." Miguel begged and finally Aisha gave in.

'Chocolates and Astronomy.' that's all Miguel had for help but he had an idea and he seemed positive about it. But today's lesson was cut short once Sensei Lawrence told them he's having trouble with entering the 'All Valley Tournament'.

[a few hours later]

It was dark now and Charlee was walking around the Mini Mart outside of the dojo, the hood of her hoodie over her head and packets of food in her hand.

Once the girl had got everything she needed, Charlee placed the bottle of Gatorade and the packet of hot Cheetos on the counter and once they were scanned she handed her worked money to the man. "Thanks." Charlee gave a quick nod before leaving the store, walking back over to dojo and stepping into the empty training centre.

Charlee placed her food onto the bench along the side and put her earphones in before stepping over in front of the punching bag and she began to practice all the different punches and kicks she had learned through the weeks.

After what felt like hours Charlee was still punching at the bag feeling like she was doing something until an unexpected voice spoke up, "You're doing it all wrong."

On instinct Charlee turned around ready to defend herself, "Woah, woah, it's just me." Hawk quickly held his arms out to stop her, "Fucking... hell. You scared me. Don't do that!" Charlee groaned taking out her earphones and began listening as Hawk laughed at her.

"Ha. Ha. Stop laughing at me." Charlee slapped the boys chest but she couldn't help but smile as she listened to Hawk laughing, "I'm sorry, but you should've seen your face." Hawk's laugh began to fade away and Charlee stepped up to the punching bag again.

"You were doing it wrong." Hawk repeated himself, "What are you talking about?" Charlee question looking back watching as Hawk put his kit bag to side before walking over to her.

"Here." Hawk's voice was quiet, taking one last step closer to the girl he placed his hands on her hips moving them so they were square, "It's all about your angle, don't move your hips too much, it's all in the arms, especially in an offence." Hawk explained, looking down at Charlee.

The girl kept her eyes on the punching bag not wanting to face Hawk knowing she would turn into a tomato, their bodies were almost touching and Hawk's face was only centimetres away from her but it was only when he took a step back that Charlee finally managed to breathe again.

Now that Charlee had enough room she thought about what Hawk had told her and she began to do some jab punches against the bag. Everything felt so much easier, she felt less tense and didn't feel as much force around her core.

Claps filled the dojo, followed by a small chuckle from Hawk, "See how much easier it is? You're fast, just remember to strike first and use all the power you have." Hawk reminded her and Charlee nodded with a grin.

She walked over to the bench and sat down opening her drink and taking a few sips of it before she lay her head back on the wall and close her eyes.

That was until Charlee felt a presence sit by her, and Hawk spoke up once again. "So, what are you doing here?" he asked, and Charlee opened her eyes before responding, "Just some late night extra training."

Technically it wasn't a lie, she just forgot to tell Hawk that she was also trying to escape the mental, emotional and physical abuse she gets from her parents and she didn't know where else to go because she doesn't feel safe in her own home. And Charlee did want to get some extra training in, so, it's fine.

"No pain, no gain." Hawk nodded and Charlee furrowed her eyes confused but nodded along with him allowing the boy to have a moment of pride. "What are you doing here?" Charlee asked.

"Forgot my school bag, just thought I should get it before I completely forget where it is."" Hawk explained and Charlee hummed in response.

Hawk walked into the back room grabbing his backpack before he walked up to the door and looked back at the exhausted girl, "Night Dragon." Hawk said, "Good night." Charlee replied waving the boy off. A smile plastered on her face as she thought back to the feeling of Hawk so close to her, and that feeling made her heart beat rise. What was this feeling?
