I always wanted to do something
With my life.
I wanted to help people,
Care for others,
Show them love
And give up my whole life
Just so someone else
Could live a happy life
Because I don't deserve mine.I can't help but think
That every second out there
Somewhere in the world
Billions of kids are dying
Starving
And uneducated
And it's not their fault. Its ours.
It's the privileged few
That have the ability to make change.
Our decisions matter.
Each choice we make,
Every word we speak,
They could inspire
Or they could wreak havoc. This guilt that I have
Builds every day.
Education is key.
Awareness leads to emotions
and attachment
Which leads to
Responsibility.Yet how can one person make change?
A timid, nervous confused human being
Afraid of the world
New to the dangers that lurk in the dark
Hidden from the unpleasant truths of the world. One does not find comfort in such thoughts
In fact, one such as myself may feel helpless
But do not distress, for you are one of many
One of many to follow
that hope to change the world we live inDo not fret.
Be brave.
Hope is not yet lost.
