Chapter 19: Snakenado

Jake POV

Leo quickly started picking things off from the table. He put on somegoggles, and put on a tool belt.

"What's an Amphisbaena!?" asked a panicked Zac.

"You're about to find out!" Leo yelled while grabbing hold of us all and jumping out the wall hole.

"HE"S CRAZY!!!!" I screamed while falling to my death.

"You call THIS crazy!?!?!?" Leo answered.

He pulled a string out of the vest he was wearing. Giant Golden wings shot

out from his back. as he glided down to the ground dodging an attack from the Amphisbaena.

When we landed, Leo took guns out of the toolbelt and pointed them straight at the monster. Amphisbaena started to roll through the streets, crushing cars, and smashing into buildings. Tons of people were running around like crazy away from the monster.

I don't know what they were seeing, but it must have been something close to the actual thing. But then again, looking at it now, the thing was kind of cute. In a weird creepy greek monster way.

The creature unraveled itself. It looked like a giant snake with wings, but on both ends was a head. The heads had big ox horns and razor sharp fangs. It's mouths came to a smile though, which was kind of relieving. That along with it's huge green eyes made me decide to take a closer look before attacking.

Leo was about to charge with the rest of us when I shouted, "Wait a minute!!"

Everyone stopped what they were doing, except for Amphisbaena who just kept rolling around randomly.

"This monster..." I said "...is not purposefully doing this."

"It's not?" asked Clare.

"No. Just take another look." I pointed towards Amphisbaena, who was unravelling and raveling itself repeatedly while moving about. In front of the creature was a tiny butterfly.

"It's chasing that butterfly!"

"So, you're trying to tell me that this thing is a giant puppy dog!?!?" Leo asked in disgust, gesturing with his guns towards Amphisbaena.

As he did so, Amphisbaena unraveled itself again. But this time, the butterfly landed on one of it's noses. That head stopped immediately and looked at it with it's green eyes. For a moment, he looked cross eyed, until the other head slowly stalked towards the other. It swiped with it's claw and the butterfly flew way up into the sky.

Amphisbaena unraveled it's entire body straight up into the sky. When he ran out of height, he came spiraling down like a snakenado. When it hit the ground, Amphisbaena perched it's heads to opposite sides and started panting, tongues out.

"This things dumber than Festus!" said Leo. Festus glared at Leo with his glowing red eyes, and let out a fireball.

"Ow! Ow, ow! Okay, okay. Sorry." he said as the fireball hit him in the rear end.

Cars started honking at Amphisbaena. He looked confused and scared. His big green eyes looking straight at us for help.

"Hey, we've got to get him out of here..." Savannah muttered.

"Tatar..use your magic flute thingy!" I told Tatar.

"It's called a Pan Flute. And I don't know if it will work on monsters." he complained back at me.

"He's not much of a monster..."Clare pointed out.

"Nevermind. I've got a better idea..." I looked over at Tatar cryptically. He looked worried.
