Chapter 18: This Man is Insane

Jake's POV

I looked in shock at my new found "uncle".

He looked nothing like me. At all. So naturally I was a little confused. But what really surprised me was when I looked over at Felix behind me on Griff, I saw a resemblance to the man.

"I'm also your uncle, and your uncle, and your...father." he ended at Felix.

A look of shock, horror, and relief spread across Felix's face. "Dad...? Is that you...?" Felix choked up and stopped talking as if trying not to look weak.

"Yeah, Felix. It is." Felix could not take it anymore. He jumped off Griff into the arms of Leo.

"Does this mean I'm related to Felix....?" I asked.

"Technically, I guess we are all related...in a weird complicated way..." Clare responded.

"Maybe we should talk somewhere else." Leo recommended.

We all sat around Leo's living room. In front of us was a now charred coffee table with pencils, rulers, and wrenches. Spread across the table was what looked like blueprints and battle strategies.

"So.....how have you guys been..?" Leo asked with a happy tone.

My eyes shifted towards Leo and Felix. A surge of jealousy shot through me. I wish I had my dad. I know he was a big hero and all, but why did he leave me and Rayn....

Zac explained everything that happened to us since we left the camp. Leo didn't look surprised at all, as if expecting a lot worse. Though I can't see how anything could be worse than all this.

"So...could you tell us what the heck is happening....or...?" Clare asked.

"Oh, right." Leo responded."You're all demi gods. Or demi demi gods....? Or whatever you are. That's what you guys are. Right Festus?" he gestured to Clicky.

It made me sad that Clicky actually had a name. 'Festus' clicked back at Leo.

"Okay...." Zac said.

"Right now, there is not much time for explaining any further details."

"Wait a sec-" I tried.

"You all know what you can do, right?" Leo asked.

"Well, Jake can do a pretty cool trick with a water bottle." Felix said.

"Ahh...so you're water boy..." Leo looked at me from bottom up, as if considering something.

"Follow me if you want to live...." Leo said with a deep serious voice. This guy is totally insane...but he's the only chance I have to meet my dad...

We followed Leo to the back wall of his apartment. What the heck were we doing here? "So...pretty cool huh, guys...?" Leo said like he pulled out a 1 million dollar bill. But all I could see was a blank white wall. My question was answered...

He touched the surface and the wall slowly started moving up. We entered into a room full of weapons. Which kind of reminded me of Men in Black a little bit.

"Welcome to my weapons vault..." Leo said as he entered himself, arms stretched out as if welcoming us to Jurassic Park. I can relate anything to movies...

"Take as much as you want..." Leo said. "All these weapons were made by your's truly. Even your drum stick blades, Jake."

It surprised me that he knew my name. But what surprised me even more was when I looked down at the base of my stick. Engraved in the side was:

Made by Hot stuff

"You guys can come here whenever you want." he continued. Clicky, or Festus followed behind Leo like a dog and his master.

Everyone started grabbing things of the walls and tables. I just sat there with my blades fiddling around with them. I do that a lot when I think. Well, that was before I found out they were 6-inch blades. The way Leo acted when he called me water boy was strange. I was just about to ask him something when we heard a loud screech.

"Oh, crap! Not on the first day!" Leo complained.

"What the heck is that...?" I asked looking at the creature down below the hole in the wall.

"I sure hope you're something like your father, Jake..cause you're about to need his strength." Leo said cryptically. Well that made me feel a lot better. THis man is insane if he thinks i'm gonna jump down there and fight that thing.

"What the heck is it, anyway?"Savannah asked.

"Amphisbaena..." Leo responded.
