Eda laughed when Serkan told her that he had had to let his car in the middle of the road to run to her. They walked hand in hand until the said-street, gaining a few odd looks from people passing by because of her white dress and his wayward look. To their surprise, they found the car exactly where he had left it, untouched, with just the addition of a white ticket under his windshield wiper. The people that had been blocking him before were not there anymore but the people behind him started honking as soon as they saw him. They quickly climbed in and left.

They decided to go to the sea shore to walk a little. They had so much to talk about, so many things to say. They didn't want to waste any minute. He parked the car and they both got out. He joined her on her side and slid his hand delicately in her hand. Their hands reacted automatically and their fingers intertwined just like they always had. They walked in silence on the paved seafront, looking at the sea, the children playing, the couples walking... Each stole a glance at the other when the other wasn't looking. But when their eyes eventually connected, they both laughed nervously.

Serkan indicated a bench and they went to sit on it. They had so many thoughts swirling in their respective minds that they didn't know where to begin. Now that the adrenaline of the moment had winded down, Serkan realized just how unfair and cruel he had been to Eda. How could he have believed Selin? How could he have rejected all of Eda's attempts to get close to him? He felt angry and disgusted at himself. He didn't recognize the man he had become these past few weeks.

"Eda," he finally started and she turned her head to look at him. "First of all I want to tell you how sorry I am." He paused looking at his hands on his lap. "I have been so mean to you, so cold... I have treated you in ways I can't even comprehend. I wish this had never happened. I wish I had never had to put you through this."

"Serkan..."

"Please, no. Let me finish." He said turning to look into her eyes. "Eda, I lied to you. I did remember a few things since I came back."

"You did?" She frowned. "Why didn't you tell me?"

He nodded. "They were like flashes...images without context. I didn't know what they were and I didn't understand what they meant. I was confused."

"What did you see?"

"For weeks, ever since I woke up at the hospital, I had this recurrent flash of me entering a room and seeing a woman in a pale yellow dress. But each time I was about to see her face, the flash just disappeared."

Eda gasped. "You... You remembered our first engagement party?"

"No. But now I know that it was you. When you wore the dress at the office the other night, I recognized it. But I didn't know how or what it represented."

"You should have asked me. I would have told you."

"I know." Serkan sighed. "But I couldn't. Look, I know it doesn't justify everything. But when I came back here in Istanbul, I had just spent a month with Selin, isolated, with no memories of you or the last year of my life. I was lost. And what she told me about you... I didn't trust you. I couldn't."

"What did she tell you? That I was a manipulative opportunist woman that only wanted to take your company away from you?"

"Yes."
