AU: Eda 'Yildiz' Yildirim is the sole heiress to one of Turkey's wealthiest families. She was raised by her grandmother whom she hates because of her parents' death and sending away her first love when they were teens. She is promised to another heir that she doesn't know. In one of the parties she is forced to attend, she meets a handsome multi-billionaire businessman. As their eyes lock, memories come flooding back, and they recognize each other. In this battle against the past, who will end up winning?

Her grandmother had given her no other choice. She had to attend that dreadful party with that man. She had not met him ever since they were both teenagers and she remembered him as the smug weakling boy that used to make dirty jokes and considered himself to be more important than he really was. She had argued, and spoken her mind to her grandmother about this but the old woman had not wanted to hear anything.

"Stubborn old witch!" Eda muttered as she threw yet another dress angrily on her bed.

She was trying to find an outfit for the welcoming party that Semiha Yildirim – also nicknamed Taş Yildirim for her stone-like persona and her jewelry empire – had organized for the arrival of the Akman family. That morning, the old woman who happened to be her grandmother had all but announced her that it was time she'd think about marriage. The young woman was not in the least interested in that but it was of no concern for her grandmother.

At the age of 25, Eda Yildirim was the sole heiress of the Yildirim jewelry empire, manager of their Istanbul corporate and the most eligible bachelor woman of the country. As a result, according to Semiha hanim, the next step was of course to marry into a well-suited family, worthy of their rank, so that her lineage would be secured. Plus, she seemed to have the perfect candidate picked out already: Efe Akman.

Eda huffed again angrily as she threw yet another dress on her bed. She hated it, hated these parties with all those fake arrogant people. And that night she absolutely abhorred the thought of having to play girlfriend for a man she had not seen for close to eight years and that she used to dislike back then. After cursing for a good fifteen minutes at each piece of clothes she got her hands on, she finally chose a dress. She smirked as she looked at it. It would be perfect for what she intended to do.

It wasn't late after she got her make-up and hair done, and put on her dress and accessories, that she received a knock on her door. It was Tahir, her personal assistant and chauffeur asking her if she was ready to go. She was surprised that she even got to ride alone since Semiha hanim had been so adamant on them both going to this. After a few touch-ups, she got up from her dressing-table and left the bedroom.

She was standing at the back of the lush reception room, next to the man she despised. He was exactly like in her memory and as she expected him to be: cocky, self-absorbed and the most despicable man she had ever met. She had to admit that he was not bad to the eye though with his tall and broad frame, his jet black hair and beard, and his impeccable suit, but what had broken the charm he could have had, had been his eyes.

His dark brown eyes had mentally undressed her the second she had set foot in that room, and the disgusting lick oh his lips that had sent a cold chill through her spine. She had instantly regretted putting on that impossibly short dark green silky dress that left little imagination to the eye. She had chosen that one because she knew about the Akman's strict policy regarding etiquette and protocol. But it had backfired. Apparently their son wasn't one to follow them...

Eda was in a group with Efe, his older brother Seyman and a few of their friends. They were talking about stuff that she couldn't care less about but a simple glance towards her grandmother had dissuaded her from going anywhere else. So she simply took a glass of champagne from a passing-by waiter and gulped it down almost in one shot. When another waiter passed again next to her, she didn't hesitate to place down the empty one and take a second one.
