"Finally, we made t to the coordinates you gave us Failsafe. Took us a while, even on our sparrows but we're here." Taiki-9 says as he, Spe-7 and Suzuka arrive at coordinates that Failsafe gave them. "Cayde is confirmed to be stuck inside a Vex portal system. Think you can find the source so we can get him out?"
"Oh yes! By locating the original Vex teleporter that the Cayde-6 used, you can shut down the loop and free him! I can guide you there!" Cheery Failsafe says.
"Okay, find the original teleporter and shut it down, should be easy." Suzuka replies.
"You say that now." Taiki chuckles as they head inside a cave that's been terraformed by the Vex. Inside there are strange pools of white-ish fluid and Spe-7 accidentally steps in it.
"Whoa! What the?!" Spe-7 shouts as she yanks her foot back.
"What happened Spe-chan? Are you okay?" Suzuka asks.
"That was so weird... I stepped into this white stuff for a brief moment... And I heard the Vex in my head..." Spe-7 replies.
"I would just stay out of that if I were you." Taiki says. "Looks like the stuff that makes up the Vex cores."
"That's radiolaria!" Cheery Failsafe replies. "You know, mind fluid!"
"So wait... The Vex aren't robots?" Spe-7 asks, even more confused.
"The Vex used to start out as biological organisms according to my captain! Then they created these bodies as locomotion, bringing them up to how they are as of this era!" Cheery Failsafe explains. "I could go on, but the most you really need to know is that they're time traveling killer robots." Bitchy Failsafe adds. "You guys call them Vex, I call them terminators."
"As expected of a golden age AI." Taiki chuckles. "But do you have any idea of why Cayde would be on Nessus?"
"I know the answer, but he told me not to tell anyone!" Cheery Failsafe replies.
"Guess we'll have to find him to find out." Suzuka says. "I think the teleporter should be up ahead?"
"Should be." Taiki replies as the trio head further and further inside. They start to reach a large room that looks like a base of operations for the Vex, confirmed as they find blueprints and diagrams for various buildings and structures that they have planned out.
"What the... Are these... Construction blueprints?" Spe-7 asks.
"It would seem like it." Taiki replies. "But why would they just be laying out here like that... I thought they would have that information already downloaded in them..." His suspicions are confirmed when the blueprints and diagrams turn out to be trapped- vanishing as soon as he touches them and summoning a swarm of ambush goblins and minotaurs. "It's an ambush! Look out!"
"Whoa!" Spe-7 shouts as she notices heavily broken goblins charging towards her with their cores exposed. She goes to blow them away with her auto rifle but when she destroys one it explodes violently, taking the others out with it and leaving behind puddles of radiolaria. "Stay out of the puddles! And stay away from the broken ones!"
"The broken ones?" Taiki asks, but he quickly gets his answer when one of the broken goblins explodes next to him and he just barely escapes the explosion. "Holy shitballs!"
"I got this!" Suzuka shouts as she lets loose her void energy and throws a hurricane kick that vaporizes all of the attacking Vex, giving them breathing room and a chance to advance forward.
"Warning! Vex detected nearby! I think they are trying to block access to the Cayde unit's teleporter!" Cheery Failsafe says.
"That came pretty late, but thanks anyway." Ghost replies.
"I thought your wholesale destruction of the Vex would make me miss my captain and crew less!" Cheery Failsafe says.
"Well, did it?" Taiki asks.
"Nope!" Cheery Failsafe replies.
"And there's the teleporter." Taiki says.
"I think the Cayde unit will want it, you should take it." Cheery Failsafe replies as Taiki yanks the teleporter out of it's place.
"OOF!" Taiki shouts as he's sent flying by an explosion with the teleporter still on him. He hits a wall and Suzuka quickly rushes over to help him back up. "Well... Definitely not expected..."
"Take THAT you scrap heap! I'm out! WOO!" Cayde-6 yells. "You did it! You got me free! Ha-ha! Ha... Ha... Now where am I?"
"Cayde unit, you are now next to the remains of my reactor core! Welcome to the Exodus Black!" Cheery Failsafe says. "Where all your dreams come true." Bitchy Failsafe adds.
"Now let's get over to where Cayde is." Taiki says. "Oh look, a portal." The portal in question takes the trio back to the start of the cave where they can backtrack.
"Now we need to get to the remains of the Exodus Black. I bet you Failsafe is there too." Spe-7 says.
"And you might wanna come over here quick. I want to introduce you two to my new friends, Failsafe and her evil twin Failsafe!" Cayde calls out.
"If I had feelings, they would be hurt!" Cheery Failsafe says.
"Yeah... I think we should make haste." Taiki replies. "The Fallen followed us everywhere when we evacuated because they were found on Titan. I wouldn't be surprised if we found them here on Nessus too."
"You're right, let's go." Suzuka says.
"But where is the Exodus Black?" Spe-7 asks.
"Failsafe just sent me the coordinates. Hopefully the Fallen haven't intercepted them." Taiki replies. "If they did, we might just lose Cayde..."
