Chapter 4: Kurama's past

Naruto's POV

I'm sorry I left Hinata in that, but I had to run away or Neji would be able to strangle me. I know it because he's so crazy that he rode 30 km on his bike just because of me-ttebayo.

"Father!" Kurama yelled.

"Please… find… someone… to take... care… of you…" Hagoromo said with all his might. He lived to his final age. But now he had no strength and was slowly dying.

In the laboratory, where he created Kurama and the others only from ordinary animals. Even Kurama was originally just a fox, Shukaku raccoon, Matatabi cat, Isobu turtle, Son Goku young gorilla, Kokuo foal, Saiken snail, Chomei dragonfly and Gyuki small octopus.

Hagoromo died and Kurama cried. Despite its pride, it could not get rid of the grief of losing its father… It left its group and did not find anyone for a long time. It obeyed its father's whishes and set out to find its partner. But it couldn't find him anywhere... The world was too big and Kurama was running out of energy.

It did not give up and tried to gather strength in itself. But when it did, it suddenly teleported. To another city. City called Konoha. It searched the city for a long time, but did not notice anything. It was looking for its partner even on the night when it was on the verge of its strength due to the teleportation. It teleported too far. It couldn't go on and took the last step. But it fell into a hunting trap… Then it woke up and saw its partner. It was Naruto…

"No way! Kurama, you are incredible!" I would never say that into Kurama. I wouldn't say it has such a sad story.

"I really don't understand that my father meant you by that partner. Even Shukaku has a better partner…"

"Why?! I’m getting stronger! I know it’s not much, but I’m trying, all right?!" I was touched, though I kept saying I didn't care about Kurama. I don't know why. We spent a lot of time together.

"Hah, I thought that I’m just a stupid damn fox. Why do you care?" Kurama smirked.

"Because, because…" I stroked my head. I shouldn't care, but I do. I care what it thinks of me.

"Just kidding. As my slave, you're pretty good."

"As I though! Wait, slave-?!"

"Until you are stronger than me, I do not take you as my fateful partner!" Kurama said seriously.

"Heh, do you want to test it out?"

"Nah, you are still too weak. You can't even handle weapons yet." Tss.

"But you are the first who doesn’t think that I’m weird. I appreciate that, really. You didn't even find me suspicious. At first I thought you were naive and I found out you are really naive. But you are also very friendly. Sometimes you remind me of my father. Which can't be just a coincidence…"

"Kurama…" It fell asleep. Again. But… I didn’t expect this from it… From an animal that can just talk… No, he’s not just an animal! That's right, I take him equal... Not like my pet! Not anymore! He’s my friend too!
