"Boys! Dinner is ready! Come down when your ready!"

Hinata quickly looked to Kageyama. "How do I tell my mom?! She doesn't even know that I'm not..."

"Straight?"

"Yeah! That! How do I know she won't freak out or-"

"It's okay. You don't have to until your ready. If you want, I'll come out to her first and see how she reacts. If she reacts well to me, I'm sure there won't be a huge problem once your ready."

He nodded and grabbed his hand, leading him out his bedroom door. He immediately let's go when they reach the staircase, but Kageyama understood.

They took a seat at the table where plates were already made for them.

"Itadakimasu!"

~Time Skip: After Dinner~

"Mrs. Hinata? I was wondering something. If I told you something, could you give me an honest reaction and tell me what you think?"

Mrs. Hinata stopped what she was doing and sat down next to him. "Of course dear. Shoyo dear, give us one moment. I can send him your way when we finish talking, okay?"

Hinata hesitates and looks at Kageyama, who just nods. "Alright. I'll be outside practicing if you need me, okay?" After seeing Kageyama give him a thumbs up, he went outside.

"Is everything alright, honey?" Hinata's mother asked.

"I was wondering if you would still be comfortable with me if I said I was gay. Hinata already knows, but I wanted to make sure you were too, since I'm already here so often."

Mrs. Hinata sighed. "Dear, you are a wonderful child, so sweet and kind to both of my children, and I could easily view you as a third child of my own. Your sexuality doesn't bother me at all. If your happy, and you are still the same boy that I see whenever you come visit, I don't see why that should be a problem for me. Love is love after all."

Kageyama smiled. "Thank you, Ma'am. I'm glad you understand."

"Of course. Now, you should head outside. Shoyo is probably getting a little impatient. I'm sure we both know how much he looks forward to practicing with you" she said with a smile. "Let me know if there is anything I can do for you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Hinata!" he called as he ran toward the door.

He ran to where he knew Hinata was and saw the volleyball on the ground. Hinata was pacing back and forth, silently mouthing his worries to himself.

"Relax, it went just fine. You want to hear?" Kageyama asked and Hinata came over, yanking the phone out of his pocket and listening to the recording. He started to tear up.

"I can't believe it. It was really okay? She didn't look mad or anything?"

"No. She smiled most of the time actually. Whenever you are ready and comfortable to tell her, I'm sure it will be okay. I wouldn't even mind if you wanted me there too. You are okay, I promise."

Hinata hugged him tightly. "Thank you" he said softly.

When it started getting dark they went inside. Natsu went to bed early, to tired to stay up much longer, but Hinata pulled his mom to his room with Kageyama.

"Is everything alright Shoyo?" his mother asked, sitting on the bed with the boys.

"I- I'm..."

He looked back and saw Kageyama's reassuring look. "It's okay, take your time" he said.

"I'm bisexual and I love him!" he called out. His sudden yelling shocked his mother, leaving her at a brief loss of words. Hinata was scared, but quickly felt Kageyama's arms wrap around him reassuringly.

"Alright, honey first of all, please don't yell. Natsu is trying to sleep." Hinata took a deep breath in. Here it was. "Secondly, relax. You are my son, and always will be. I'm glad you know who you are, and I'm glad that you are comfortable with it. Kageyama is a great friend, and I'm sure he will treat you well, right?"

"Of course. I wouldn't ever want to upset him." Kageyama answered, hugging Hinata a little tighter.

"Then, I couldn't be happier. If there is anything I can get for you, then let me know, ok?" The boys nodded and she held out her arms. After a group hug, she smiled. "Kageyama, you should probably head home. You boys have school and morning practice, right? I can drive you if you'd like."

"Thank you for the offer, but my sister said she could pick me up on her way home from work. She should be here in a few minutes anyway."

"Alright. I can call you when she gets here then." and with that, she left. The boys talked a little more before Miwa had arrived.

"Goodnight, Hinata. See you tomorrow."

"Goodnight!" the shorter replied waving from the door. That night he snuggled with Kageyama's hoodie and slept better than he ever has at home. He was at peace, and it felt like no one could take that from him.
