Amy's eyes opened to her dark room, searching it helplessly for...him. She rolled to her side; the space beside her was empty. Then it slowly dawned upon her.

He was gone, and there was nothing she could do to bring him back. The realization of this brought tears to her eyes that stung form the last visit she received last night. The crying always came along with the nightmares.

It's been six months since the accident; a lot of time to get over what happened (as what Amy's psychiatrist said), but what did he know, huh? Six years couldn't be enough for her to move on; the wound in her heart felt so fresh that it burned with an unquenchable flame that spared nothing in its path. Losing him in that way, so soon, made her want to take her own life.

A lot of times she did try to, and every single time she failed. She just couldn't bring herself to use the knife.

"Why did you have to leave, Danny," she whispered through her tears.

She could still remember the night clearly; it still haunted her every minute of existence.

There was a slight drizzle that night, they had just come home form a fantastic night at Anthony's, Danny's older brother.  He was getting married the month next, and everyone was excited for the event. Of course, they weren't counting o a disaster so soul crushing as to what will happen now.

The two of them were walking home, enjoying the little tear shaped droplets of heaven. They had just moved in together, something that the two of them were very much animated about. Now, just a house away from theirs, Danny smiled at Amy like there was nothing else in this world more wonderful than her, which made Amy's stomach do double back-flips. He was very handsome when he smiled, his pearly white rows of teeth almost appeared to have been glowing under the evening sky, his golden waves were viciously being tousled by the wind, and his eyes, those perfect almond shaped eyes shaded with the lightest of browns and flecked by enchanting golden magic.

He had class that evening; evening sessions happened once  a week every Monday. Yes, it was a Monday, a day Amy later on hated. He only had enough time to change into dry clothes and kiss Amy goodbye, before going off once more.

Amy saw him off on the porch, waving a hand of goodbye.

"I love you!" he had shouted through the rain, right before...

Amy sobbed once more, the pain in her chest increasing in degrees.

A flash of red and blue came to her vision, three minutes later she was inside the vehicle, with Danny holding onto her for dear life. She had froze when the car hit Danny with great speed and force, sending him flying to six feet in the air and landing with a hard CRACK on the gravel road. The driver of that silver 2008 mercury Milan didn't even stop for a second.

It took her quite some time to realize they were already moving, driving swiftly through the evening traffic of the city. She was being drowned by the scorching pain in her chest and from the anxiety that forbade her to steady her breathing.

"You're going to be  alright, Danny," she told him softly, tears streaming down her shadowed face. At that moment she did not know whether she was saying this to calm him down...or herself.

Now she knew; it was herself.

"Amy I-," blood trickled down his mouth, his lips hardly parting, choking his words.

"Shh... Danny, don't. Just hang on. You're going to be okay...we're going to be fine." More tears came to her eyes.

Danny's eyes clouded over, and he started to say;
