Evelyn felt every inch of her body ache as her mind started to wake up. Tearing her eyes open, which was more difficult than she had anticipated, she realized she was lying on a hospital bed, connected to an IV and an EKG. Her throat burned as she tried to swallow, even the small movements sending a wave of pain over her body. Hearing noise, she realized the TV in her room was open. She saw a pair of sneakers on the edge of her bed and her eyes followed them up to see who they belonged to.

"Get your dirty shoes off my bed." Evelyn croaked out seeing it was her friend, announcing that she was awake.

"Hey, grandma." Natasha smirked at her, putting her feet back on the floor. "Thought you were gonna hibernate all winter."

"Steve?" Evelyn asked not remembering what had happened to him, the EKG beeping faster.

"He's fine. He's in the next room." Natasha got up, giving her a small smile. "I'll get the doctor."

As Evelyn laid on the bed which was at an angle so she was almost sitting up, her whole body screamed at her to move and stay still at the same time.

"Good to see you awake, Miss Townsend." Natasha walked in with a doctor, who had a clipboard in his hands. "You have three broken two bruised ribs, internal bleeding, one major concussion and a broken left leg." Evelyn's eyes flashed to her leg which was in a cast and elevated from the bed. "We stopped the internal bleeding and the concussion should be gone by now. I'm not counting the multiple bruises and cuts over your body. We couldn't lower your temperature but I'm told that's... normal?"

"It is." Evelyn croaked out, dying to drink something to ease the pain in her throat.

"The IV is for your medication." He scribbled something on before continuing. "We need to keep you here for at least another week. However you can start eating, liquid food at the beginning. I'll have the nurse send something up."

"Thanks, doc." Natasha nodded. "Anything else?"

"Your birthdate." The doctor frowned, looking up from the file, clearly not knowing who she was. "It says here you were born on August 8, 1920?" Evelyn nodded, realization finally washing over the man's face. "Oh."

"Grandma here is in good shape for a ninety three year old." Natasha joked before the doctor could say anything else, opening the door so he could leave. "Water?"

Evelyn gratefully took the paper cup from her hand and took a small sip, her throat almost instantly feeling better. Taking couple more sips, she handed it back to Natasha. Hearing a knock on the door, Natasha rushed over and saw a nurse holding a tray. Natasha closed the door with her shoulder and put the tray on the side table, rolling it to Evelyn's bed.

"Seems... delicious." Natasha commented, eyeing the hospital food.

Evelyn feeling too tired to raise her hands waited for Natasha to pick up the spoon. The minute the soup touched her lips, Evelyn gagged, followed by a cough which sent a jolt of pain through her body.

"Come on, you gotta eat." Natasha stated, holding the spoon in front of her face.

"No, thank you." Evelyn turned her head to the side. "That's disgusting."

"Evelyn."

"Natasha." Evelyn shot back as Natasha tried to push the spoon to Evelyn's mouth.

"Don't make me force-feed you."

"Knock, knock." They heard someone at the door, slowly opening it. "Is this a bad time?"

"Oh thank god." Evelyn sighed, Natasha finally retreating back. "Clint, save me."
