"EVANGELINE LEIGH ADAMS, GET BACK RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" a sour faced looking woman called to her daughter who was walking along the incoming sea foam.

"I'm barely touching the water though, mom." Evangeline replied back sarcastically and tried to ignore the obvious distaste her parents were showing. "What was the point in even coming to wales if we weren't going to go swimming?"

"We figured since the water was cold you wouldn't want to go swimming." Jeffrey Adams, Evangelines father, told the girl, then muttered annoyingly under his breath. "Clearly, we were wrong."

Evangeline ignored her parents and breathed in the salty air accompanied by the cool winds. She didn't mind at all that the water was below freezing, nor that storm clouds were slowly rolling in... which was a perfect time for her parents to go to the pub. Evangeline turned to her parents knowing what was going to happen.

"We are heading off to go do some..." Martha Adams looked at her husband and smirked, the girl gagged internally. "adult things. We'll meet you at the hotel before midnight." This happened every time they went on vacation, Evangeline's parents weren't the most fond of her... which wasn't a surprise to any. Having gotten pregnant before becoming an adult, the pair had brown to resent their daughter for changing their lives so drastically so quickly. So every time they had a chance to, they would leave Evangeline alone... which is how she liked it.

"Do not, and I repeat, do not, go into the ocean." Jeffrey remarked a gripped his daughters chin once she looked away toward the ocean. "Do you hear me, girl?"

Evangeline bit her tongue and forced herself to look him in the eyes. "Yes sir."

"Good, now we'll be off." Jeffrey wrapped his arm around his wife and without sparing a second glance, continued farther and farther away from his daughter.

EVANGELINE KNEW WHAT HER PARENTS SAID, she knew that they despised her going into the water for reasons unknown. She hadn't touched a grain of sand since she was six years old, the girl was now eighteen. She could pass up this opportunity to go deep, and go deeper than she ever had before. Sure, she'd been to community pools and swam in small ponds growing up, but her parents would never let her touch a river or anything connected to the ocean. So she had to do it.

With all the clothes shedded on the beach except for her underwear and tank top, she started to tread into the water. It was dark, and cold, but with each step something called to her. Told her to go deeper.

Lina, it called to her, Linaaaa

The voice in her head should have creeped her out, but she felt comforted the farther she was out. Twenty meters. Fifty. One-hundred. Once she reached one-fifty, Lina stopped and smiled, she had never felt more free. The cold water blanketed around her like a hug.
