2 weeks later...
It's been two whole weeks since I have last spoken to Jace. At school, he is very distant. It's as if he and I are strangers. I'm not sure if he's going through something personal or if it has anything to do with what I told him a couple of weeks ago but it's bothering me and I don't know what to do.
I'm currently in the living area, lying on the sofa, stuck in my head about this whole thing.
"Hey," Natasha said as she walked into the room, completely interrupting me from my thoughts.
"Hey," I replied as I sat up. "Can I talk to you?" I continued to ask.
"Uh...yeah, of course. What about?" she replied as took a seat next to me.
"I'm sorry. I just didn't know who else to talk to," I started. "You know Jace right?" I asked.
"The boy you were caught smoking weed with not too long ago?"
"Really? And yes I'm talking about him," I answered.
"What? Is he mad at you?" She asked.
I shrugged. "I honestly don't know. The last time we spoke everything seemed fine but now I'm not so sure if it is," I said.
"What happened?"
I sighed. "The last time we spoke I told him who my biological father is," I replied.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion before responding. "Now why would you do that?" She asked.
"Ari convinced me, okay. None of that should matter though. We've been friends forever and this one thing that I have no control over shouldn't ruin everything," I responded.
"Well, I say you just confront him. It's the easiest way to get the answers you're looking for," she recommended.
"I would love to but I don't think I have it in me to do that," I said as I sank my back into the couch. Natasha let out an exaggerated gasp.
"I didn't take you as one to be afraid to confront someone."
I rolled my eyes. "This is different. The situation is sensitive," I said.
"Then, don't let it be. Just talk to him like the friend that you've always known. Nothing should have to change. Tell him how you feel," she advised.
I sighed.
"You're right...Thanks, Nat," I said as she stood up.
"Don't think about it too much, okay. You got this kiddo," She said before exiting the room.

Jace sat alone on the edge of his building. He let his feet dangle from the edge as he looked in awe at the skyline ahead of him.
"Hi," I said as I approached him.
"Hey," He replied without disrupting his current gaze
"It feels like forever since our last conversation."
"Yeah." He responded in a dry tone.
"Why is that?" I asked. "Jace, I feel like lately, you've been purposely keeping your distance from me. Why? What did I do?"
He sighed before finally turning his attention from the skyline to me.
"Nothing...You did nothing, alright. Your good," He assured.
"Then what's wrong? Talk to me please." I continued to ask as I took a seat beside him.
"It's not you, okay. How many times do I have to say you did nothing wrong? It's me, Hela. I needed space," he answered.
"I figured that was the case which is why I didn't come to you earlier but this is getting to be too much. I feel like after our last conversation things went downhill even though you continue to tell me otherwise," I said
"We're not good, Jace. It's obvious that you feel some type of way about my dad. Just man up and tell me that." I continued.
He stared blankly at me for a moment before finally speaking.
"You're right." He said. His face softened as he continued on.
"I do feel some type of way. I don't know why and I shouldn't feel the way that I do towards you. It's not fair to you but I do. After you left, I was just in my head too much and I felt like keeping my distance from you was for the best. I needed time and space. I'm sorry, you didn't deserve that."
I sighed.
"Don't apologize. I get it. It's alright," I said.
There was a deafening silence between the two of us for what felt like an eternity before Jace suddenly broke it and spoke.
"I missed you," he said.
"Huh?"
"I said I missed you. I missed being around you, talking to you." He repeated.
I smiled.
"You know, we never finished our conversation before," He said.
"What conversation?"
"You know, the one we had when we were high as a kite. The one where you told me how you felt, how much you liked me," he reiterated.
You can hear the crickets chirping in the distance from the pure silence that occurred at that moment. I didn't know what to say, my cheeks turned red and I couldn't help but smile.
"Oh, I remember now," I replied awkwardly.
He smiled.
"Yeah, well...I was gonna tell you I felt the same way," he said.
"You do?"
He nodded.
"Well that's good to hear," I said with a slight smile.
He scooted closer to me, closing the space between us. He grabbed hold of my hand and we interlocked fingers.
"I missed you too by the way," I said softly.
I watched as he closed his eyes and slowly moved in for a kiss. My heart started to beat a thousand beats per minute. The palms of my hands began to shake and my armpits began to sweat. I took a small breath before closing my eyes and following his lead.
Our lips soon locked and I could feel fireworks going off inside of me. The moment was magical, it was something that I never wanted to end.
He pulled away from the kiss. A smirk formed across his face as he looked deeply into my eyes. Before I knew it we were kissing again.
