Chapter 4

Author's Note: I have this thing where I wanna slowly build 2 people's relation ship before smacking them into a relationship. Cutesy moments are my absolute fav to write :)) But I don't wanna rush things cos it's not fun to read when 2 people meet and it says, I fell in love with him, like 0>0 bro u just met or something. Or that's so much description wow... So yeah, we need cute scenes, thanks for listening to my ted talk <3

Hange Zoe's POV

I rushed out of Levi's office and went to go find his squad. As I stepped into the main dining hall I could see Eren, Mikasa and Armin rushing up to me.

"So did Levi ask you?" Eren asked.

"Yep, and I've decided that we can set out later today!" I told them. They all let out a cheer that got everyone's attention in the room. Everyone turned and set their eyes on me.

"We're heading out on an expedition later on today! Please get ready!" I spoke to everyone in the room. They all moved as soon as I finished, seemed like they knew what was going on. 

After talking to the kids I went to go find Levi again, I realised that I forgot to tell him we were going this afternoon. I walked into his office and saw him laying on his desk. Was he sleeping? Did completing my work yesterday worn him out, after all he had his own work to complete too... I sighed and walked over to him. I grabbed him by his shoulders to wake him, it didn't take much until I heard a groan,

"Hange?" he said.

"We're going on the expedition later today. I thought I'd inform you," I said to him, "Oh and... Sorry for waking you." 

"Fuck you four-eyes," He said as he got up from his desk and stood up.

"Yeah, sorry about not telling you earlier, I forgot..." I chuckled nervously. 

"No shit," he replied as he walked over to me. "Have you told any of the higher-up's about this?" 

"No... Not yet, I'm sure Historia's fine with it," I brushed the situation away. Levi sighed and patted me on the shoulder. 

"Get ready then," he said walking out the room. I stood in his office looking out the window. It was still pretty early in the day, we were to leave at noon. After staring at the sky for a while I snapped back into reality and went to go change into some new clothes and equipping my gear.

All the scouts were on horse back, riding out into the green fields towards the ocean. I thought about it in my mind, about what it looked like... The way Armin described it was a vast pool of water, full of salt but so huge that not even all the merchants in the world could collect all the salt. It felt surreal, for so long we thought there were no humans beyond the walls, just titans. But over the past month things have changed so much, because of Eren and the scouts we learnt the truth. However I guess the truth wasn't a free pass to a free life, on the other side of the sea... Were enemies. I sighed and focused my thoughts onto the galloping of horses and eventually we reach a land full of sand.

In the distance there was a wall made of stone, it just sat there, all by itself. It wasn't very big, maximum length would be 500m. 

"It's the wall... I remember it," Eren said aloud. 

"You mean this was the wall they threw humans off of, to turn them into titans?" Connie asked.

"Yeah..." Eren replied. 

Soon we reached that wall and on the other side... A gleaming paradise of sapphire waters waited for us. The sun was already beginning to make its way off the horizon and it towered over the infinite field of water. As a breeze hit us I noticed the smell of the ocean, it was unlike anything I've smelt before. It smelt... salty and a little stinky. But it smelt fresh, in a weird way. We all hopped off our horses and walked along the sand.

"This is the beach..." Armin explained, "Where the sand and sea meet, it's called a beach. Also known as the shore, where land cuts off." I took off my boots and cape then stepped into the water.

"It's cold!" I yelled. I dipped my finger into the water and licked it, "Whoah! It really is salty. Incredibly salty!" I said, not really speaking to anyone but Levi rolled his eyes at me, Tch. Beneath the clear water I saw something, it looked like a rock but... It was very oddly shaped. I bent down to pick it up.

"Oi, be careful. It could be poisonous," Levi said from behind me.

"It'll be fine! I'm gonna research it when we get back," I said excitedly. Suddenly a large wave of water came crashing at me causing me to fall backwards. A pair of strong arms caught me. My back was pressed against their chest and their arms holding my shoulders up.

"What'd I say, shitty glasses?" Levi said to me. I stood back up and regained my composure and faced him.

"Ehehe... Sorry Levi," I apologised and proceeded to dry my feet off. Whoosh,  without warning another wave crashed at me feet and I lost my balance. Again. However unlike last time Levi didn't catch me, instead I found my arms wrapped around his shoulders...
