slight angst??
maybe mild idk
I was sitting on the couch, saddened by my extremely empty notifications. Katsuki hadn't reached out to me in /days/, not even a single text message. I miss him so much."Dude!" Kaminari comes in from the kitchen, finally done snooping around my kitchen, and sees me turning on my phone for the umpteenth time for anything new. He sits next to me and throws an unimpressed look my way. "That's your, what, sixth time I've caught you?"
I roll my eyes and stare in front of me. "You wouldn't understand, Denks."
He frowns. "Then /help/ me understand, Ei! But I can't if you keep keeping to yourself."
My eyes flicker to him and I sigh, knowing he's right. "Yeah, I know, sorry, Denki. It's just— you know how we still talked through facetime? Katsuki and I?"
He nods. "Well, usually I'm the one always calling him, right? But these past couple of weeks, he seemed to be cutting it short and I felt like I'm bothering him, especially since he's over there for work and stuff." My vision blurs as tears overlay my eyes. "A- and I started to think that if I wasn't really bothering him then he'd call /me/ first. This started two days ago and it's the third day and—"
I turn on my phone and show it to him so he can see what time it is, "—it's almost 9:30 and he hasn't called me since. I doubt he's going to even send me a text message today either." I say that last bit quietly.
He pushes the phone out of his face and looks at me with sympathy, speaking softly, "maybe he's just /really/ busy."
I look down at floor, mumbling, "or maybe he realized—"
"No." Denki interrupted, "I will not allow you to think such things or for you to even finish that sentence. Blasty loves you okay? I'm sure h—" he's cut off by the doorbell ringing. He bites his lip before slowly turning to me. "You gonna go answer that or?"
Shaking my head, I ask, "can you get it for me? I don't really feel like—"
"I think you should go," he deadpans, cutting me off before getting up and going back to the kitchen.
'Why is he acting so weird?'
I sigh and shake the thought away. Getting up, I stretch my limbs from sitting down for long, and make my way to the front door, unlocking and opening it. My breath is completely knocked out of my lungs when I see a familiar tuft of blonde hair on a tall body.
"Katsuki?" I whisper into the air timidly.
His back was turned away from me so when I said his name, his head snapped back and his eyes widened. Which didn't necessarily make sense since he was the one who rang the doorbell, presumably.
"Ei, hey," he said softly into the air. Puffs of white clouds floated out of his mouth as he spoke, warm meeting cold.
My waterline quickly filled up, not knowing how to react and my emotions getting the better of me. "I thou—"
"I know," he interrupted, already knowing what I was going to say. "It must be pretty shocking to see me here, huh?" He asked, averting his eyes away from mine.
