"I hate you, Miyamura."

Miyamura's happy smile turned into a nervous one as he prayed for his well being as Hori started moving back from the hug. He immediately shut his eyes tightly waiting for a punch, a kick... Or maybe if he was in a dream, a kiss.

But as none of what he had in mind came his way the next few moments, he slowly opened his eyes only to see that Hori was standing a few steps away, looking anywhere but at Miyamura.

Miyamura started growing anxious by the minute, "You can punch me or kick me or beat me however you like just..." he trailed off, his gaze falling to the ground, "Say something, Hori-san."

Hori did not spoke a word as silent remained between them. Their few steps distance almost seeming like they were light years away from each other.

The evening sun kept setting down behind them, the sky now a scarlet red with a tint of bright yellow, almost seeming like the sky was blushing.

Almost a minute later, Hori started fiddling through her purse, taking out a piece of paper.

Holding it up so Miyamura could have a look, she asked, "Do you recognize this?"

As he lifted his gaze, Miyamura's eyes widened as he gulped. The paper Hori was holding was one he recognized immediately.

"Th-That's my death certificate."

Hori nodded as she read the contents aloud, "Mr. Richard Beck. At the age of 37, died due to loss of excessive blood caused by a fatal injury in a road accident on the streets of Ohio."

Miyamura remained silent as she finished. His gaze, once again, on the ground as he could feel Hori's eyes burning holes in him.

He couldn't look at her. For all he wanted was to dig a hole and bury himself in it to avoid her gaze which made him feel guiltier by each passing second.

But what he didn't know about was that there was yet a warmth in Hori's gaze as she silently looked at him.

"You know... I've seen this document hundreds of times already. Mr. this died on that along with his wife and blah blah blah. Of course. if immortal vampires like us wanted to become a part of human society, we had to take these counter measures. While humans looked at their loved one's death certificates with sadness and tears, I was someone who could only laugh at this piece of paper as I sat beside you, living our days in peace. But..." she trailed off as she clenched the paper in her hand.

"Why did you that?" she asked through gritted teeth, her head hanging low, "Can you even realize how I felt when I was told that you were dead? I laughed it off only to realize how gravely wrong I was when I was taken to your funeral. Even though I knew in an instant that the body, who looked exactly like you, wasn't you... I was scared. Because you just disappeared. You shut your business, you sold your properties, no note, no message, no-NO NOTHING!" Hori had yelled the last part, making Miyamura flinch. He slowly raised his head to look at her.
