Tomioka's POV:

"Bye, Tomioka!" Makomo and Sabito yelled. "Bye, see you later!"

I walked out of the cabin and into the woods. January 1st XXXX (idk the year). First day of the new year. Fresh start. Cool winds. Soft snow. Rustling twigs. Soothing. As I walked further into the woods. I noticed footsteps. I followed and led me to the cliff.  What? Did someone jump off? Suicide? Oh, wait no scratch that, that person would have been stupid. The snow is about 2 feet high and it's very soft. Dammit, ignore it. I walked and looked over the cliff and saw a print of a boy? The print looked fresh? I slid down the cliff and observed it. I think the boy was okay since there was no blood. I also observed that there are footsteps leading into the woods. I carefully entered the woods and heard the shouts and shrieks of a boy. Is it the same boy?

"Nezuko!"

Was he calling someone? I quickly ran in the direction of the boy. My eyes widened. There, I saw a boy fighting off a demon. I dashed quickly and missed.

"Why are you protecting it? "She's my sister!"

Did he really have the audacity to call that thing her sister? How bizarre. Before both of them reacted, I grabbed the demon by the collar and returned back to my initial position. The boy cradled himself to protect himself. And his sister? What the hell is wrong is with him?

"My job is to slay demons. I am going to decapitate your sister." ... "Please don't kill her!"

Heal her? That's impossible. This kid doesn't understand everything. Demons are the reason why we are suffering. You! Me! Everyone! His goal, his intention, it's just useless. His plea is eccentric. I should have been here. I should have saved him and even her from the despair brought by them.

"Stop it."

I restrained the demon then stabbed her shoulder. Her shriek was as loud as a ringing church bell. Tears rolled down and her cheeks. "Stop!"

The boy keeps throwing rocks at me. With my sword in my hand, I was able to block the rocks from hitting me. With me being distracted by the rocks, I had to focus on the boy. Where was he? From the corner of my eye,  the boy approached me. A frontal assault. With control force, I knocked him out, not dead, but fine. Where's his weapon? I looked up and saw his ax twirling at me. I directed my head to the right and the ax grounded on the tree. Shit. This kid...

"ARGHH!" I lost my grip on her. She instantly ran towards her brother. Shit! NO! But with just a simple action, altered my perspective of these siblings. She's protecting him. I wonder, is she different from the others? She then attacked me, with all her strength. I sighed. I can't believe I'm doing this. I proceeded to knock her out. I believe she's different. Okay. I got this.

I placed her next to her brother. They are both knocked out cold. Hmmph. It's cold. I'll just remain here until the boy wakes up. While I did, I made a muzzle for his sibling. Bamboo. Small but well-crafted. And with a petite pink fabric on the right rear of the muzzle. 5 minutes have passed. Now, 10. The boy should have woken by now. Did I hit him too hard?

"Huh?"

Oh, he's conscious now. With everything that just happened, the boy had panic in his eyes. He turned to his sister and drew her close to him. Okay. "You're awake, that's good. "See an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki at the foot of Mt. Sagiri, where he lived. Tell him that Giyu Tomioka sent you." With that message, I left. I ran towards the Oyakata-sama's mansion for a meeting. Not a pillar but for their successors. Should I tell them about what I discovered? No, I shouldn't.

At the Mansion:

Kocho's POV:

"Ara, ara you're late."

"Not even a good morning?" "No. Also, it's 12 pm. What took you so long? Why are you sweating? I swear your resident is not that far. I-"

"Come on, Kocho. We're already late." He swiftly walked into the mansion. What's wrong with him? Did he encounter a demon? Argh, he's making me think too hard. I soon followed him right after.

"Good afternoon, children!"

"Good afternoon," Tomioka-san and I said in sync. "Please enter." Tomioka-san and I then took our spot and sat down.

"First off, I congratulate you on completing your first mission together! From both of your private comments to me, you two seem comfortable with each other. Since I assume you are, please tell each other what you said about each other."

"WHAT! No way in a million years I would tell Tomioka-san what I feel about him. FUJFHDJHFH

"Tomioka, would you like to go first?" I turned around to Tomioka, who was still composed. "I guess." Tomioka then turned his whole body to face me.

"Kocho, you are very brilliant and clever. You are kind-hearted and patient. You are very hard-working but sometimes you get overboard with it but-" "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"

This brat. He really had the audacity to say that to me and master Oyakata-sama. Wait... ####! "Tomioka-san, please keep those negative thoughts within your mind."

"Ahem, but didn't master say to what we think about each-" "YES, BUT NOT EVERYTHING!" I want to slap the shit out of Tomioka-san right now.

"Settle down, children. Also, thank you, Tomioka. I agree and please end there." Did Oyakata-sama just agree with Tomioka-san about me getting overboard? Please, anyone out there who can hear my plea, please kill this brat and klutz. "Kocho, would you like to start?" I startled and cleared my throat. "Yes, umm" "Tomioka-san, you too are clever and sharp. And uhhhh"

OH dammit, I don't know what else to say. What should I say....... OH YEs! "I also conclude that you are a good fighter and strategist, thank you." I ended with a proud smirk.

"Very good, child," Oyakata-sama replied. "Now we are over and done with it, I would like to start on the main reason why you both are gathered here today. First off-" And with that, Oyakata-sama told us about this information. He told about abnormal activities reported in the North.

"-And with that is why I will send someone to accompany you with." Huh? Who? "Please come in child." And with that, a small boy about 12 years old entered. He stood with a lack of posture but in other words, he looked okay. except for the fact, he was taller than me smh. "This is ...
