Y/n slept uneasily for the rest of the night. She flinched at any sound from outside or downstairs or in the next room, her paranoia kicking her in the gut every time. It was awful.

She quickly got up when the sun started to peek through the window of her inn room, getting dressed and hurrying out the door. The icy wind refreshed her, a welcome change from the stuffy battle smelling cavern of Waterfall from last night. She walked around town a bit trying to calm her nerves, conversing with any villager who wanted to talk to her.

Y/n walked past the skeleton brothers' house and smiled. The Christmas lights strung along the roof lining, the pirate flag dangling from one of the second-story windows, and the overall cheery demeanor of the place calmed her. The thought occurred to her that she'd never been inside their house before. She shrugged off the thought and kept walking in the direction of Snowy, a small area before you reached Snowdin.

"Yo."

"GAH!" Y/n yelped, jumping back as someone suddenly appeared in front of her. "GEEZUS PAPYRUS! What the heck?! I told you no more of that! Geez!" Papyrus snickered at her flustered and irritated state.

"Sorry kiddo. Didn't mean to startle ya," he said casually, still smiling as Y/n tried to compose herself. "I wanted to ask you something before you left Snowdin."

She scoffed and motioned her hand for him to continue. "What do you want that's so important you had to give me a jump scare?"

"I wanted to ask if you'd like to go to Muffet's again...and maybe make it a regular thing...?" he replied, adjusting his hood and avoiding eye contact for a second, an orange-ish tint dusting his cheek bones. "I mean if you don't want too, I can just send Sans as usual to- "

"No, no, it's fine!" she said hurriedly. "Sure, that sounds nice. I actually didn't eat breakfast and I'm super hungry." Papyrus smiled and held out his hand. She stared at it confused. "What're you-?"

"Just take my hand. I know a shortcut," he explained. Y/n hesitantly reached out and held his hand and was instantly pulled forward. It felt as if her entire body was turned inside out, then pulled in different directions. Her breath was sucked from her lungs and her vision blurred considerably.

A second later her vision returned and she looked around herself. She and Papyrus were outside Muffet's bakery back in Snowdin. She gaped, looking from him to the shop, to everywhere. He let out a small chuckle at her surprised expression and held the door for her to enter. "Papy, you didn't tell me you could teleport!" she exclaimed as she walked into the café. "That's so cool...!"

"Yep, It's pretty handy too. Especially when one needs to get out of a sticky situation," Papyrus replied, still smiling.

The two sat down on the stools in the corner away from the other people. It seemed to be getting on to the noon rush, though it was still quite empty. Soon after they settled in and Muffet skated over to them with a smile. "Ah, I see you've brought the little lady with you again dearie~" she commented to Papyrus, her smooth voice was soothing. "What can I get you two on this fine morning? (or afternoon I suppose)."

"I'll just have the usual Muffet, thanks," Papyrus said, glancing to the girl sitting next to him. She looked frightened and pale again...

"I-I'll just have a sweat tea. If you have it of course-" she managed to say. Muffet nodded with an understanding smile and excused herself, leaving the two alone again. "Ugh this dang stutter. I can't even ask for a drink without clamming up and- "
