Y/n woke to her head pounding. She tilted her head on the pillows and looked out the side window. The light of the Underground could just barely be seen as it began to light up the river, sending rays of thin light onto the clear cold water and surrounding land. She shifted her focus to her surroundings.

Papyrus had pulled up a chair when she was asleep and was slouching, sleeping next to her, his hand clasped in hers. She looked him up and down, the only movement being the steady rise and fall of his chest. I don't think I've ever seen him so peaceful, She thought, a small smile spreading across her face. She shook it off. He sleeps all the time. It's no big deal...

She gave his bony hand a gentle squeeze before shifting and trying to get comfortable to fall asleep again. Just as she got comfortable, she heard a groan coming from the other side of her. There was a shifting sound before her hand was let go, falling sadly to the floor. "Ugh...my poor spine, I'm gonna pay for that fer weeks..." Papyrus grumbled. Y/n shifted to face him, pulling the blanket tighter around her body as she did so.

"Pay for what?" she asked, a hint of sleep still in her voice. Papyrus scratched the back of his skull and looked down to her face half-buried in the pillows.

"For sleeping in a chair all night. Not the best option if I want decent posture," he replied, his voice husky from lack of use. "Sorry though, didn't mean to wake ya." Y/n shook her head and attempted to sit up. She let out a yelp and winced as she moved her injured arm. "Are you-?"

"Yep, I'm fine- sorry," she interjected, clenching her teeth in pain. "I just hit my arm on the couch. Gimme a sec." She readjusted and sat up with her other arm's help. Pulling the blanket to her chest, she sat and stared at her lap for second.

Her thoughts traveled to the conversation last night she had with Dings, as she called him, in her dream. I need to tell him about Flowey. I can't keep it in any longer. I can't keep lying to him, he doesn't deserve that... Y/n took a deep breath. "Papyrus?"

"...Yes...?" he said at length, his expression melting into suspicion. She said my full name, not the usual nickname or something...

"I...I need to t-tell you something important."

"Does it have anything to do with how you got hurt?" he asked. She visibly hesitated, her grip on the blanket tightening. He frowned. "Because you better have a damn good explanation for why it looks like someone mugged you... and..."

She winced at the curse, not used to Papyrus using strong language with her. "I-I do. Just listen, please..." he nodded, a grim expression on his face as he leaned forward on the chair, resting his chin on the back of his hand.

Y/n slowly began to tell him everything she could. She told him about how she met Flowey, how he tried to kill her at first, but then acted as her friend saying he only wanted to test her. She told him about how Asgore had taken care of her, how she missed him and wondered if he was ok. She wondered aloud if Asgore had known about Flowey. She told him about the small meeting she had with Flowey in Waterfall while the three of them had been on a walk.

Her voice became scarce when she mentioned how Flowey had asked her to meet him for a "training session." Papyrus moved and sat next to her, gently rubbing his hand up and down her back to try and calm her as she struggled to get the words out.
