26) I promise

Sophia POV

Well working with Gal went time move fast. It was pretty fun and although winter break is over, sometime during the weekend I go with her to work and just hang around there because it's fun.

It's Valentine's Day right now and guess who's spending it alone again. I sigh and walked to the kitchen. Luckily today's a Saturday so I don't get to see couples sucking each other faces early in the morning

I went down and saw my dad fixing his tie

"Woah dad what's up with the suit, where you going?" I asked as I reached the bottom of the stairs "Me and Gal are going on a date tonight" He said and my heart stopped

Not going to lie we kinda fell apart because I was too busy and she had her own life. We haven't talked in like 3 weeks and I kinda miss her. Whenever she comes to visit here I just end up in my room. During school we would make eye contact but that's it.

I honestly kind of miss her

We heard the doorbell ranged and my dad went to get it. I continue my way to the kitchen to find something to eat. I grabbed a bag of potato chips and walked out

"Uh Soph where are your manners?" Dad said stopping me from walking up the stairs. I looked at them and saw Gal staring at me and in her eyes I see pain and hurt

"Hi Gal. I hope you two enjoy your date" I said and went back upstairs with my bag of chips. I sigh and grabbed my phone. I played around with it until they left leaving me alone

Few hours has passed and I just finished showering and saw Taylor called me. I called her back and she quickly answered. "Hey everything okay?" I said to the phone "Yeah I uh called you a few times are you okay?" She said and I smiled

"Yeah sorry I was in the shower so what's up" I said

"Well go outside and take a look" She said and I can feel her smiling through the phone "Uh okay" I said suspiciously and ran to the front door and opened it

That's when I saw Taylor holding flowers for me leaning against her car

I smiled and ran up to her

"You really drove here and bought me flowers just for me?" I said "Wrong, I also bought you some chocolate" she said and I laughed "Happy Valentines Day" She said and I grabbed her gifts

"Thank you but I didn't get you anything" I said feeling bad "There is one thing I want though" She said and I looked up at her

"I've been wanting to tell you something and I think right now it's the best time." She said getting nervous

"I like you Sophia...romantically"

She said and I froze

"I've been liking you for awhile but I was too shy to tell you so I bought these gifts for you to make you feel comfortable and accept my feelings for you" She said and I saw her hands shaking.

"Tay I-"

"I know you don't like me but let me just do something" She said and she slowly leaned down. I didn't move because my mind was still processing what she said that I didn't even get to change to think she's about to kiss me

Suddenly I felt her lips on mine and I closed my eyes. I felt her hands on my shoulder and I pushed her away

"Taylor..."

"I'm sorry-"

"Are you guys done yet"

We both turned our head and I saw my dad with Gal. Shoot she saw us kissing. Taylor stood back up straight and shifted awkwardly. I took a glance at Gal and she looked like she's about to explode. Her eyes looks evil and her hands were clenching so hard that her knuckles turned white

"I uh- I'll see you in school" She walked to her car and drove away leaving me speechless

"I'll text you later Goodnight honey" Dad said to Gal

Dad walked to me and pat me on the shoulder

"Next time get a room" He chuckled and went inside the house and closed the front door leaving me with Gal.

"Get in my car" She said and walked to her car. I stood there not knowing what to do. "I said get in" She said and I went in to the passenger seat. Gal started to drive and I didn't know where we going

Minutes came by and we stopped at the bookstore. It was pretty late right now so no one is here. We sat in the corner in the back of the store and sat there in silence until I break it

"How long were you watching us?"

"I saw and heard everything" She said. Yikes they were here for awhile. "Did I do something wrong? Why aren't you talking to me? Ignoring me at school too" She said looking at me

"No I promise it's not you it's just-" I sigh

"It's what?"

"You're with my dad. Y'all are getting engaged soon this summer and you're my English teacher. We can't keep up this behavior" I said and she looked down

"That's understandable, but I need to let you know something before I leave" She said "What is it?" I got curious

"Do you like Taylor?" Gal asked and I didn't even get the chance to think about that. I mean Taylor is great. She's beautiful and funny but I just don't see her more than a friend

"As a friend, yes"

"Good, because I like you too....romantically of course. For awhile now" Gal said and I was in complete shock.

"So please talk to me. I miss you" She said and I was left speechless "What about dad?" I asked "At this point I could care less about him" She sigh

"I understand we can't be together but I just want to let you know that I seriously like you. And I have never felt this type of feeling so bare with me. So I'll wait for you when you're ready" She said holding my hand

I looked at her and touched her cheek

"Okay" I whispered and I saw her smile

"Promise?" I whispered holding up my pinky

"I promise" She whispered back and connected her pinky to mine

"Oh and one more thing" She said

She kissed me and I didn't pull away, but instead I kissed her back. She pulled away and stared at me
