8) Stealing car keys

Sophia POV

The weekend sadly was over and today is a Monday now. I was walking to school and I saw Gal doing teacher duty at the front. She made eye contact with me and I pointed my knee and gave her a thumbs up.

I was wearing a skirt today so she looked down

I walked away and I heard a bunch of laughter coming in the corner. I saw Taylor laughing something on her phone while showing her friends. I forgot about the deal and today was the last day. Is she showing them my picture?

I need her to get away from them.

I saw her car keys in her pocket and took the chance. I slowly walk up to her and grab her keys but she saw me. She widened her eyes and I grabbed the keys and ran away

"Smith!" She yelled my last name and start running chasing me

She caught up to me and grabbed my wrist

"What are you doing?!" She said "You were showing something to your friends on your phone and I thought it was the picture of me" I said breathlessly

"I told you I would never do that" She said

"Do you really think that low of me?" She said and I give her keys back to her. "Today's the last day of our deal" She bent down so we're the same height

"I make sure to make it worth it" She smiled and walked off

I watch her walk away

I was in the middle of class when I got a text message from Taylor.

Taylor
I forgot my soccer bag in the field. Get it for me.

Me
Are you crazy? I'm in class!

Taylor
Then say you're going to the restroom. You don't want your photo to be seen right?

Me
Fine

Taylor
Meet me in the lab room. I'll be waiting

"Can I go to the library? I have my work finished and I need to a research paper" I asked my teacher and he gave me a pass. I grabbed my things and walked to the field where I saw Taylor's backpack. Unexpectedly it started to rain.

Why now?

I ran and used Taylor's bag to cover myself but I still got wet. I finally got back inside the school and went to the lab where Taylor want me to meet her. I opened the door and I saw her

She smiled but dropped when she saw me

She rushed over to me and I put her backpack on a table

"Soph" She took off her jacket and wrapped it around me. "I don't care about the picture anymore. Can't believe I have to be your own personal maid just for a stupid picture" I said and she just stood there staring at me

"I-"

She didn't say anything

She bent down so we're the same height

"Im sorry" She said and walked away leaving me standing feeling confused

I sigh and walked away

I was walking to my last period when I noticed I was still wearing Taylor's jacket again. Gal saw me and I saw a confused look on her face. Class went on and Gal couldn't stop staring at me.

I didn't pay much attention to her lecture

The bell ranged and I was about to walk away when Gal stopped me

"Your father wants me to drive you home. Just in case you might sneak out" She said and I nodded. We both touched the door knob and I felt sparks. I pulled my hand back and she cleared her throat.

She drove me home and we went inside the house. Looks like dad isn't home yet. I quickly took a shower and when I went downstairs Gal was drinking wine. She stood up when she saw me and checked my knee

"Are you okay?" She whispered and I nodded

She sighs and she pulled me into a hug which surprised me

"Please stop acting like everything is okay" She hugged me tighter. She looked down at me and smiled but she tried to hide it

We heard a car pulling up meaning dad is home

She sighs and walked away
