Chapter 14

"...WATER ACTIVITIES!"

The classes erupted into cheers. They were going to be doing all sorts of activities, water based!

"Does anyone have any quirks that would be affected by the water?" Ms. Wolvenhowl continued.

Along with Denki, himself, Iida, Bakugo and Tetsutetsu raised their hands.

"If my quirk is activated outta reflex, I could rust." Tetsutetsu said with slight embarrassment.

"My engines could end up rusting too!" Iida exclaimed with his robotic hands.

"I might accidentally set off my quirk and end up sending electricity through the whole lake. Water is an excellent conductor for electricity to pass through as the water molecules aren't as packed together, therefore leaving room for the electricity to move freely through." Denki said but immediately turned bright red at the knowledge he just spilled. Being crowned as the dumb one, no one expects him to know shit.

"What about you Bakugo....?" Mina asked not removing her gaze from the embarrassed battery.

"i can't swim..." He mumbled.

"What was that?"

"I CAN'T SWIM! PLUS, IF MY HEARING AIDS GET WET, THEY WOULD BECOME DAMAGED AND I WONT BE ABLE TO HEAR SHIT FOR THE REST OF THE FUCKING TRIP! OK ASSHOLE?!" Bakugo screeched.

"Whatch you language master Bakugo." Ms. Wolvenhowl said sternly. "I will make sure to place extra precautions into the activities and maybe even exclude you four from any submersible activities. OK?"

The four of them nodded.

"All right! Please go and change into your swimsuits so that we can begin!"

Not even 10 minutes later, all students were in their bathers. Mineta had to be forcefully restrained as some of the 1B and 1A girls were wearing bikinis. Kendo walked up to Denki, whom was standing alone.

"Hey, Sparky! You alright? You look a little distressed."

"Huh...?! Oh! Kendo! I'm fine..."

"Alright. Please just be careful in the water, I don't want you to set you quirk off subconsciously."

"Thanks, Itsudo..."

The first activity that they were doing was kneeboarding. You kneel down on a board and get strapped in. You hold onto a handle and a jet ski drags you around the lake at a high speed. To get off, you just simply call out or just let go and swim back to shore.
Mina had just had her turn and she was full of thrilling excitement. Next it was Denki.

He sat down and Aizawa strapped him in and handled him the cord.

"You OK, Kaminari?"

"....yeah."

"OK. If you feel your quirk needing to go off, tell us immediately and we will take you back to the shore."

"Alright..."

Aizawa signalled to Wolvenhowl and she took off, pulling Denki with her. As Denki was dragged around, he allowed himself to smile for the first time since they got there. He couldn't contain his excitement and he let out a 'Whoop' to express his joy of the adrenaline rush that was flooding his veins.

After his 5 minutes was up, he was told to let go. He did as he was told but as soon as his head was submerged in the water, the joy and thrill vanished as a painful thought rushed into his brain...
His dad filling a bath right to the brim...
Dragging 5 year-old Denki upstairs to the bathroom...
His mother screaming...
His head being held in the water by a strong hand...
Trying to scream but instead creating air filled bubbles in the bath...

Suddenly electricity shot out of him and danced along the surface of the lake, causing him to drift deeper into the depths of the lake. He tried to scream but instead got mouthfuls of water, that caused his lungs to fill and a pain to shoot through him. As the electricity went through him, it caused bloody fern like patterns to form on his arms and legs.

"GET BACK! NO ONE GO NEAR THE WATER!" ordered Vlad King with urgency.

"He's not surfacing!" Mina cried.

"And there's blood, too!" Uraraka screamed.

When the electricity disappeared, Asui jumped in to grab him. As Denki drifted to the bottom of the lake, he saw the shape of Asui, getting closer. He saw her grab him before he passed out.

Back on shore, Asui laid down Denki's limp body. The class were shocked and scared, and not just because of the bloody patterns on his body, but because he wasn't responding. Aizawa knelt down by Denki, just as Ms. Wolvenholw joined them. Going off of the first-aid knowledge that he knew from the conference that Nezu held halfway through the year, he placed his ear down near the boy's mouth to check his breathing.

Lifting up, Aizawa started chest compressions and mouth to mouth. After a minute passed, Denki started to cough up water. With the help of his teacher, Denki moved to his side, and chucked up, tears pooling from his eyes and shuddering. Vada knelt down and started to rub circles on his back, accidently smudging the exposed blood.

"Come on, kid. Lets get you all fixed up." She said softly.

"Can Kendo come?" Denki whispered, only just audible.

"Of course."

Inside the dinning hall, Aizawa and Ms. Wolvenhowl were tending to Denki's injuries, while Kendo sat beside him, trying to sooth his sobs. 

"How did this happen, Kaminari?" Aizawa asked.

"I- I don't k-know... I-it's n-n-never happ-end be-fore. *sniff*" Denki stuutered.

"The electricity that we saw on the surface was bigger then any amount of electricity that I have ever seen you produce with out you entering your 'whey' mode afterwards. How?"

"I guess I was thinking about... my mum... it wasn't that long ago that she died." Denki was shocked at how great he was at lying through his teeth to his teacher. Kendo gave him a sad smile, showing that she understood.

suddenly, the whole of class 1A and 1B came rushing in.

"Kaminari-kun!"

"What happened?!"

"You scared us?"

"What the fuck, Dunce face?!"

"What was that?!"

"Alright everyone! One at a time! Please...!" Ms. Wolvenhowl begged.

"Denki? Are you OK?" Sero asked.

"Yeah... just a bit sore, I guess..."

"What happened, Kaminari-kun?" Midoriya asked softly.

"If I'm being honest... I don't know..." Denki started to shake once more, but Kendo continued to rub circles on over his bandages, while giving him a look that said, 'can I tell them? the cover up story?' only to receive a shaky nod in return.

"His mother passed a few weeks before the camp... Memories just came flooding back to him and caused him to shoot out electricity."

Mina immediatly embraced him.

"Why didn't you tell us, Denks?"

"I... It just hurt to much..."

Next thing he knew, Shinso was by his side and giving him a hug.

"I know that pain... It's all to familiar... Before Dadzawa met Mic and before they adopted me, my parents died as well. If you ever need to talk, you always have me. OK?"

Denki blushed at this but nodded. Now he had both Kendo and Shinso to talk to about his home life and his parents. The others would just have to wait until he was good and fucking ready.
