His knife was pressed to her throat.....

Lily jumped awake grabbing her throat screaming. "It's not real" she told herself. Lily looked at the clock, it was 3:00 am. She pulled back the blankets and went to the bathroom. Lily looked up at herself in the mirror. Why was she left alone to suffer she wondered to herself? Why had her parents left her to be tortured? Lily cried quietly so she wouldn't wake Mark. To be completely honest she didn't even know if he was home or passed out drunk on a sidewalk somewhere.Lily climbed back into her bed and hugged her pillow close. She imagined she was back with her mum. They were shopping together smiling and laughing, but most importantly they were safe.

Lily woke up before her alarm so she shut it off. She pulled herself out of bed and trudged to her closet. It was freezing today she thought to herself. Lily grabbed out a jumper and jeans and pulled them on quickly. Than she put on her face, the fake one she showed to everyone while her real one lay underneath along with all her pain. Lily crept down the stairs and grabbed some cereal. "Hi useless" Lily jumped. "Miss me did, ya" Mark asked walking towards Lily. Lily tried to move away from him and he grabbed her by the collar pushing her against the wall. "If you ever sneak off again I will kill you myself" Mark spat. Lily gasped trying to suck in air. "Now I'm going out soon cause I have friends unlike you" Mark laughed. "So I want this place spotless by the time I get home" Mark said stepping back. "Well what are you waiting for clean up you stupid girl!" Mark yelled hitting Lily on her injured shoulder. Lily bit her lip till it bled trying to hold in her scream.

Lily started cleaing up and waited for Mark to leave, he would be a couple of hours so she needed an excuse. I tell the school Mark had a heart attack that will work well Lily thought to herself. It was 12:30 when Mark left speeding off on his motorcycle. Lily grabbed her bag and ran as fast as she could.
