Chapter Twenty Six

"It's such a big place, do you two live here by yourselves?" Lala wondered as she looked around the room in awe. Everything was so clean and sparkly. Yui nodded slightly as she placed down the drinks on the coffee table.
"That's right, our father lives somewhere else," Yui's bangs covered her eyes so Lala couldn't see her face.
"I see, what about your mum?" Lala questioned. Yui's flinched making Lala panic. "Oh sorry! N-never mind!"
"N-no... it's yume fine, our mum died years ago," Yui lied. "It's not a big deal, I don't even remember her," Yui continued after seeing Lala still looked uncomfortable. "So don't worry,"
"S-sorry," Lala awkwardly apologised.

The atmosphere became heavy in an instant.

"I-I need the toilet quickly!" Lala jumped up.
"R-right! It's down the hall to the left," Yui nodded. Both eager to get past the awkward feeling in the air.

Lala followed the instruction Yui gave and ended walking past Shougo's room again. She paused for a moment debating whether or not to check in him again when the door swung open.
"Ehh? Shougo?" Lala quickly grabbed the stumbling blonde. He stared up at her with hazy eyes and a flushed face. "You need to go back to bed! Arghh! Why are you so heavy!" She complained as she tried to drag him back to his bed.
"N-no! I have... to... work..." he panted. "I... have to... stop... it..."
"Stop what? Never mind you're sick so you have to rest," Lala tried to persuade him.
"I said I have to stop it!" Shougo yelled slightly in his annoyance there was a small poof and two wolf ears appeared on either side of his head and he had small fangs in his mouth.
"Ehh! Shougo! You-" but Lala didn't get to finish since Shougo passed out a again.

"Lately I've been getting the feeling that everyone is hiding something from me," Yume had a glint in her eye as she watched everyone work as they usually did.
"Yume what's wrong?" Koharu entered Yume's office holding a pile of paperwork.
"S-so much paperwork," Yume paled as she looked at the pile in horror. She still had another 2 piles she hadn't even started yet.
"Oh this, it's just the first of four piles," Koharu smiled sweetly despite the horrifying words she spoke. Instantly Yume's soul left her body. "Also it needs to be done be the end of the day,"
"T-THE END OF THE DAY!" Yume shrieked standing up a slamming her hands in her desk. Knocking over a stack of paper. "More work to do," she groaned as she collapsed back into her chair.
"That's right," Koharu placed the documents in the desk and picked up the scattered ones. "The bosses are getting annoyed, it's weird how we can't seem to find Yumekawa's main lab,"
"Tell those old farts to stop complaining, it's hard since they have a ton of dummy labs set up with absolutely zero hints on how to find any of the others," Yume laid her head of the desk pouting.
"Yes yes, well Laura will also be bringing in her report of the most recent one she bought down last night," Koharu placed the papers that were once in the floor neatly onto the desk. "I'd get started on this quickly if I were you," Koharu turned to leave the room.
"Oh yeah! That's right Koharu are you guys keeping anything from me," Yume casually asked while scribbling on the documents. Koharu stopped and turned around with a smile.
"Of course not," she said before walking out the door.
"Hmmmmm... when did she become such a good liar," Yume mulled with out even looking up and kept continuously writing down some things before changing to the next paper.
